Okay LADIES! (*Edited by USER; content removed to facilitate peaceful conversation*)
I'm almost finished with my Draco SBR build. I haven't seen one done up like this before so I thought I would post.
http://img847.imageshack.us/img847/65/dscf6011l.jpg
The specs:
Hogue handguard and grip in desert tan
Ace folding mechanism
Pignose AR receiver extension (buffer tube) adapter (god I hate when people use the term "buffer tube"
Magpul CTR stock
Viltor receiver extension (aka buffer tube) w/ storage compartment
XS tritium front sight (stripe style)
tapco G2 trigger kit
Spectre Gear MOUT sling (love spectre gear btw)
The gun was coated in KG gunkote, stock and hogue parts are OEM color. I'm going to put on a magpul RVG (verticle grip) and a light on it, then maybe a texas industries dog-leg rail and an ACOG or red dot. The stock folds to the RIGHT, like it should! To me there is NO SENCE in folding to the left. The bolt handle sticks out to the right, so by folding to the left it makes it that much thicker when folded. The action will cycle with the stock folded on this one, though to me that doesn't really matter, folding is to save space. I can fit this in a 5.11 select carry bag.
On a side note, I've been hiding a secret for a while, I have my own youtube channel that i just started, stop by and take a laugh, i mean a look at my dumb as trying to review shit. Here is a linky ...

My name on there is DoKtor Z ... i'm going to review the Draco here soon, just haven't got to it yet. What do you guys think? How should I finish her off?

From the stock hinge forward, that is one beautiful little noisemaker.
Losing lots of coolness points with the metro looking wish-it-was-an-AR crap behind the hinge though.

I can handle the stock, what you are losing the most points for is opening admitting your drunk and playing with a gun that may or may not contain a full magazine.
Not cool in my opinion.
I'm still trying to decide if I should leave you post up or pull it.

I completely agree with some wrist slapping, removal of the post at the least, to show that that crap will not be tolerated here... IF that's the case.
But who's to say he took that pic while drunk? Could have been earlier tonight, maybe sometime in the last couple days even. I often take a picture of something I want to post and don't get around to posting it till later.

I prefer it to fold to the left. No question about the action being able to cycle, doesn't get in the way of the selector, and best of all your shooting hand can stay right there on the grip where it should be. The bolt handle doesn't really stick out that far.

I've converted two Draco's into SBR's. One with a wire folder and the other with a triangle folder. Triangle folder is the way to go, it really looks good when done.
Hey-if he is happy with the M4 stock then so be it! That's what makes the world go around.
BTW- OP gets points for a clean bathroom and TP going over the top instead of up against the wall.
Great looking stick, I really like FDE on weapons. Let us know how it runs. By the way, not cool about the being drunk and playing with guns, hopefully you took the picture days before, and just made the post while drunk. Being drunk and playing on the computer can just get you in trouble with the old lady. LOL!!

I'm still trying to decide if I should leave you post up or pull it. That is exactly what I was thinking. Being drunk and playing with guns is just not smart. Even if he was drunk and playing on the forum why announce it? Very cool looking AK IMO.
Very well done!If the stock is comfortable for you why not-it works
But um yea-dont post being drunk and handling weapons, not a good mix[Bang]-I can see if you were in the bag when you posted it,I've done that before(makes for a crappy post though)just dont play with the damn thing when you had a few[Rant1]

I have considerable doubt in your investigative skills sir, I was drunk at time of post, not at time of picture. (edited in the name of kindness)

In all sincerity I would like to address an issue...
I don't know what exactly is causing all of this, but this forum is gradually becoming more and more like a mirror image of our current government structure. Everytime somone voices anything that isn't pro leo, pro chevy truck with an american flag in the back window everyone becomes instantly hyper critical.
I have honestly been to bible studies whos patrons were less critical of eachothers behaviors. I believe we are all grown men here, as I am. I will not stick my nose into your saftey practices until they directly involve me. ...*content removed by User*... Are we going to have to digitaly sign over a weapons safety knowledge form before posting a picture of ourselves with a firearm? Maybe the reason the post counts in the for sale section are so low is everyone is afraid of posting a picture if they aren't on a range with two rangemasters holding a signed and notarized letter stating they have verified that the weapon in the photo has been saftey checked and is indeed clear. I remember when everyone jumped on that one guy who has the picture of himself pointing his gun at the camera and you can see a round in the chamber for his avatar. Really?!? I assure you, I cannot shoot you though your computer monitor, you are completely safe. And yes, that magazine in the picture is FULLY LOADED. I don't really see the point in an unloaded magazine, never have.
I thought the purpose of moderators was to ensure that the site stayed spam free and complied with all local and state laws, not smack our wrists. Damn I'm afraid to be caught in a picture without my seatbelt on, am I going to get a fine in the mail.
Anyway, rant over, and back to sticking to the for sale section. Thanks for everyones comments on the weapon, I apoligize for hurting anyones feelings.
I swear, John Wayne is turning over in his grave.

"wish-it-was-an-AR" ... lmao. more like "glad-its-not-an-AR" , I couldn't find another option that had in stock storage that allowed for adjustment and locked up tight. I really don't care about looks or remaining brand or genre loyal, its not a collector item or a safe queen by any means. The triangle stocks look cool but they are overpriced if you ask me. Do you know anything about the Gen-2 dog-leg rail? I'm thinking of using one for a few reasons. I'm not diging the lack of sight radius and the side mounts dont really jive with me either.
I like it. I'd like to do a 74 sometime in the future.

Now see that's why I don't like em... stock storage. I've always seen it as another one of those metro-AR things (right along with hanging every piece of tacticool crap on the rails and Magpul AFGs and whatnot). I mean seriously, what do you think you'll gain from having a couple cubic inches of storage space on the gun?
Anyway, sorry for the mini-rant. As for stocks, yeah some can be pricy, but a basic Warsaw-length folding stock can be had for about the same price if not cheaper than anything from Magpul, and will give you a good cheek weld and proper sight alignment (why I don't like wire and underfolders).
The Gen 2 Dog Leg is a nice piece of equipment for a longer rifle, but I personally wouldn't put one on an SBR. The point of an SBR is for close range work, and a mini dot further out (on the gas block) is much better suited for that stuff.
This place has a nice selection of AK goodies...

I did it primarly to have a place to store a copy of my form-1 so I don't have to worry about bringing it along when I take the rifle out. I might through a boresnake in there at some point, but as for right now the only thing in there is a color copy of my form 1 so I always have one with the rifle.
Optics and a good flashlight are the only things missing in my book. I like the PKA-S sight a ton but like all the russian stuff it looks like it sits up too high. I don't like eo-tech, I've thought about aimpoint but not sure yet. The Kobra sucks if you ask me, and again, sits up too high. (another reason for the CTR is the ease of adding a riser)

Something else I've been debating, what about painting the large ring around the front sight neon green (or whatever color for that matter) ... for extreemly close engagements (indoors) you can take a higher cheekweld where your looking right over the top of the rear sight so you can see the full circle, and just place the circle over the target. It seems like the center of the circle is about 5" higher than normal point of aim around 10-15 meters.
I'm trying to figure out a way to paint it high contrast that would work on both light and dark backgrounds.

Have you checked out the Trijicon RMR? Best mini dots on the market, IMO. Need raised sights to co-witness with an AK though.

Colors are hard to choose... green is highly visible, until you need to shoot at a target in some vegetation, like in the mountains. Orange is great too... unless you're out on the plains. Yellow and white both work but disappear easily in bright sunlight.
That's another reason I like the RMR... the square around the glass becomes a TV Screen of Death at close range, don't even need to bother with the dot itself.

Thats a good idea, where would you mount it? On an ultimak? I've seen some really low mount commie red dots that dont look too terrible.
I want to stay in the reasonable price range, and I LOVE the PKA-S but I just dont like the mounting system.
This is a little off topic, but it pertains to the discussion earlier, lol.

Ultimak works. Any quality piece that puts a rail on/over the gas block would do the trick.
Funny vid too.

If you do go for an RMR, some observations about using them on the AK...
Go for the LED version, not the dual-illuminated one. Much brighter/more defined dot.
8MOA is a bit large, something around 4MOA is better suited for the job.
Adjustable isn't necessary, but a nice feature to have for different conditions.

My take on the comments made-I think although a bit blunt folks were trying to make sure safe firearms handling practices were being observed. Nobody here wants to read a headline about a tragic incident involving a firearm Lead_Magnet, regardless of who it is.
By nipping at your heels they are giving us all a reminder on imbibing in a frosty few and handling firearms. Too many times it is a fatal mix.
We are in a situation where just about anything firearm related is being demonized at any level. We have a responsibility to be positive ambassadors of the shooting sports and posting that you are hammered and sporting a pic of your item is not exactly a positive image.
When your original post was worded the way it was, how else could it be taken?
My comments as far as your Draco were in no means meant to be derogatory, just stating that I had done a couple.
If that is the way you want your rifle then more power to you!

As far as optics-mount the AK siderail and mount the side mount reddots-take a look at Kalinkaoptics.com

No offense taken man, all the comments about the rifle are more than welcome. I get what your saying, I just see things a little differently about alot of things I guess, but I'm over it, its a small issue.
I added the rails that come with the handguard on the bottom and on the right side of the handguard. I've never had a light setup on a rifle so once I figure that out I'll work on an optic.

To be honest I love it. I can take that Draco anywhre, noone ever says a thing about the bag. I took the Draco fully loaded, with 2 spare mags, a plastic bag full of 7.62x54r (we were going shooting and I brought a mosin that was out in the car), the sling, and some other misc. BS into a safeway to grab some stuff and not one odd look. It deploys in just a few seconds should you need it, looks like an average messenger bag.
Honestly I can't say enough about it, the bag is what bumped my draco into the illustrious "go to gun" position for me. Its the only one I can actuailly take with me without everyone noticing. Would make a great bug out bag, can hold a hydration resivior, general bs, rifle, pistol (though I don't carry it with the fanny pack part, looks more ordinary without it), and pretty much everything you need in one bag. Its holding up well too so far, my draco pretty much lives in there.
