If the the corporate/political elite are the 1ers% (Silly me, I always thought that 1%ers were outlaw bikers because they had a patch), and the protesting douchers are the 99%, how can i apply for some percentage points for the rest of us that don't wear patchouli and smoke dope?
Those idiot protesters are making the erroneous claim that they speak for 300 million people. They are just a bunch of typical liberals who are trying to impose their empty feelings on the rest of us.

My question is: what is the band Phish doing now that their entire following is standing in the streets holding signs?
Herman Caine called it correctly: "Why are you protesting Wall Street when the real problem lies at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue?"

Well there's your first mistake, you're trying to apply logic. Won't work.
My question is: what is the band Phish doing now that their entire following is standing in the streets holding signs?

They are exercising their right to dissent, and they are upset that the people that put us into this recession were bailed out and rewarded. I don't see anything wrong with their protests.

They are also complaining that they actually have to hold down jobs and pay back their student loans. I agree with the first part of what you are saying, but whining about basic responsibilities kills the entire thing for me. It's like going to Vegas, blowing all of your money, and then demanding that the casino pay you back, comp your room, and give you free passes to Blue Man Group.
It seems a bit ridiculous to me.

Oh you mean like the banks and big corps in this country did? Fortunately for them the government doesn't mind paying back the loses and comping their lifestyles as long as its our money! [Rant1]
I have no issue with the protesters until they block a public right of way or interfere with an individuals private business.

Privatizing the gains and socializing the losses, that is what our government helped the big boys (Wall Street, GM, Chrysler, et al) do.
Moral equivalency is not the answer, just because the government did it for some folks doesn't mean the government should do it for everyone. 2 wrongs don't make a right.
The truth is that the government shouldn't have helped anyone. The government shouldn't be bailing out businesses nor should the government make any kind of loan to an individual.

i agree with this . my issue is the lack of organization and no clear list of demands . when people are protesting everything from the corporate machine to gay rights to open boarders ect thats not a protest thats a confused mob . i just see a bunch of under informed people with no direction . its only a matter of time before the system bumps back . how long do you think it will take ? how many resources are being wasted on this ? how many lives are ruined , because they could not get the the hospital or a cop did not show in time because they are dealing with some hippie who wants out of there bills? protesting is just fine but they need to get it together before someone gets hurt. .

I wish they would all march right up Sheridan past my place. I'd be throwing a couple of dozen raw eggs into their ranks to see if they could hold it together!!!

Kind of reminds me of the sandbox. They just love to bitch, have no clue what they are bitching about but any excuse to mass in the street and have news coverage. [LOL][Flower]

This is exactly what I was trying to get at. +1
While I'm not opposed to student loans because it is the only thing giving me the opportunity to go to school while providing for my family, all of these "99%" folks sure are making it seem like a good idea to take away the privilege of student loans as they don't seem to appreciate what an incredible opportunity it is, nor do they understand that no one is entitled to blow $100,000 on some ridiculous pipe dream of job that either isn't there or will never truly come to fruition. No, you don't deserve to be some millionaire painter or the CEO of Apple.
I suppose that private corporations could take over student loans. They tend to do better with the monetary end of things anyways.

the bailouts were not a perk for fatcats or a payback for any back room deals. it was designed to keep the economy from crashing harder that it did, and causing a depression that would have made even more people lose their jobs.
it did not work, because you can not spend your way out of recession.
hence the herman cain quote.
look at their list of demands. these people are a communist insurrection, and they don't even realize it.

Useful idiots is the term that I would assign to them.
There is only one economic condition that can be shared by all people and that one condition is poverty.

yup, that's what lenin called them
