Prayers Needed

Man,
You always think your life is so bad until something tragic happens.

Got a call around 10:20 last night that one of my band kids hung himself. He was only a 6th grader... He "seemed" fine but there has been some home issues (parents getting divorced, etc), etc that played a role.

Please pray for the family, school, friends, etc and everyone who is affected. This is a tragic loss. If you have a good family, give them a hug.

Yeah, that's something I'm personally struggling with. I've always told 'em to come talk to me, etc. That I am their advocate in life.

To make it even worse, I was informed that this happened last year to a member of the soccer team (I'm a new teacher at this school)... So it's a double whammy as this particular kid was also on the soccer team.

I have lost a number of friends to suicide, and it always leaves more questions than answers in its wake. Speaking to someone that had attempted it, they usually feel that the pain of going on is too much to bear. Unfortunately, the person in question most often can't see that there is any light at the end of the tunnel, or that there are lots of people that will help and support them.

When substitute teaching I even see some kids who have some serious issues.
One of my wifes students parents were getting a divorce after the dad starting having heavy issues with drugs and alcohol. The kid ripped into his dad and told him he was screwing up everything, it was his fault etc. 1 week later the dad committed suicide. Their fight was the last words the kid said to his dad.

Some extremely sad situations out there. Be thankful for what you have.

Sorry to hear of your loss. I have a friend who lost their child around the same age. She was playing the choking game and hung herself. Its very very sad and devasting. Her mother was on LA Ink getting a tattoo of her portrait, the first episode of the new season.

Me and my Family will definitely pray for him and his Family. What a tragic loss, I hate heaing about bad things happening to children. I dont know if it will help but the Bible says that any child that is not of the age of accountability will go straight to Heaven, so at least he is in a better place. I know it is not much comfort in hearing that and I am trully sorry for your loss and I can only hope that things will get better for you and the family from here on.

Its sad that kids hurt them self! Its even sader when they think that others don't love them enough that they take thier own life to try to hurt the ones that realy do love them. My prayers are with you BigBear!! Sorry for you're loss!!
