View Full Version : R.I.P. Sampson aka FatBoy
Well it started about 4 years ago when I bought my house and everything was happy go lucky. One day I found Sampson, my cat, very I'll and tried to wait it out. After a few days of him not eating and withering away I took him to the pet hospital. There he spent a week undergoing tests. He was diagnosed with feline leukemia. He had to be shaved and a tube stuck in his neck for feeding purposes. After about month he seemed to be doing well and got the tube out. He lived the next several years as if nothing ever happened. Fast forward to yesterday where I found him in my closet and not looking right. After staying up all night last night trying to feed and water him, nothing seemed to be working. My wife took him to the vet this morning and they put him in ICU. They tried everything from emergency drugs to the oxygen helmet. His heart stopped once but they brought him back. I called for an update and they said he was doing better but not well. Fast forward to 15 minutes ago. The vet called me and said he stopped breathing around 2pm but they got him going again but just stopped again and it was clear, my buddy wasnt going to make it. He died from liver failure. :( I'm going to go get him and give him a proper burial.

AH man, sorry to hear that. I can't imagine what I'm going to do when my dog passes. Thankfully he's only 3, but it'll be a sad day, that's for sure. I feel for you.

I'm a cat guy myself, I have 2. I empathize. Sometimes it is best for the animal to just let it go peacefully. This just leaves room, in time, for you to adopt another and give it a great life, and on, and on.
Sorry to hear about your loss! I lost my cat of 17 years awhile back it is hard to loose a close friend!
They leave us way to soon. RIP Sampson

The love we share with our pets is as close to absolute unconditional love we as humans can experience and therefore one of the most difficult losses to deal with in life. Our pets accept who we are and forgive us unconditionally. They don’t care about appearance, how much money we make or don’t make, whether we live in a big house, small house, or no house at all. They accept us without question our angry days, quite days, busy days, happy days and sad days. They are able to read and feel our emotions as well, they can tell when we’re sad and they want to snuggle. They can tell when we’re happy and want to play. They don’t judge us whether we’ve made mistakes, said something we shouldn’t have, or waste time. To them, life is in the moment and only in the moment.
R.I.P. Sampson your love lives on forever now in your forever opie011 family you will never be forgotten!

Sorry to hear about your loss. He sure looks like my old Sarge. Had him for nearly 11 years, and lost him in a similar way. Haven't had another since, may change that after I get the family moved.

Sorry, Eric. That just sucks. I can tell by those pics, as well as how my dogs always responded to you, that Sampson was loved, and was lucky that you were his dad. Rest well, Sampson.
