Just read on that 2 "legal" grow facilities were raided and seized by the Feds in Denver today. Pretty much just said that it's not legal to grow the **** on the federal level and that's that. Maybe the honeymoon is starting to end.

The grow operations were described as professional nursery grow operations. According to the Department of Justice, Crosse owned the building where the marijuana was grown and was an investor in Do's allegedly illegal business.

Federal agents had previously seized plants at the first facility this summer. The second location is three blocks from Elyria Park.
Marijuana grows, even for medicinal use, violate federal drug laws. Medical marijuana is regulated, and if growers and users follow state rules, it is legal under state law.

And so it begins.

Barry told CO and CA that we could be free to set our own MMJ laws and the Fed.Gov would leave it alone ... then they flipped on the growers.

Tyranny is capricious.

This isnt the first raid in CO, its happened before. Just because we have MMJ doesn't mean the DEA isn't working cases against illegal grows..

This country has the most ridiculous priorities. And it explains why it's in the shape it's in.

I cried from the rooftops to not invest in dispensaries when this first started because I knew it would all come crashing down. I hope people got rich and got out before the Feds ruin their lives over this.

I didn't know you could grow heroin, or that there was medicinal heroin.

the feds ruining business here in the states...perfect.

people are going to get their fix no matter what. I would rather see it as a structured business than some parking lot/alley way shady character packing a glock looking to kill someone over a couple ounces. then it adds to the gun crime and ****s with our rights.

You grow poppies ... that's where heroin comes from ... and "medicinal heroin" is called Morphine (yeah, I know they're not 100% the same thing, but they're pretty close, heroin; aka diacetylmorphine and Morphine both come from the opium poppy).

Thing is, drugs like morphine, opium and cocaine are Schedule II narcotics (so they can be prescribed by a doctor) whereas Marijuana is Schedule I (completely illegal).

The federal government needs to move Marijuana to Schedule II and let legitimate doctors prescribe it and legitimate pharmacies sell it and then do away with this farce of "medical marijuana" with it's "wink wink" prescriptions and head shops pretending they're selling medicine.

You just described the same farce, only involving the much more serious issues of dodging a tax. Nothing like doing 10 years for some pot because you didn't have your tax stamp. Terrible idea.

What the federal government needs to do is stick to their enumerated powers. I can't find where they get the power to determine that marijuana or any other drug should be illegal.

I would LOVE to see a state tell the feds to go you know what themselves. Or even better, see local law enforcement arrest a couple federal agents for viloating state law. Last time I read the constitution, it sounded to me like states are sovereign, and the states created the federal government, not the other way around.

Amen! the federal goverment has been overstepping it bounds since the Civil war, and has grown into a Juggernaut the likes of which has the founding fathers turning in their graves so fast they tunneled to china.

The news report said that they didn't have a state license at the time either.
I support freedom in all forms and firearms is at the top of the list. But MMJ is in there too. I guess they need a push one way or the other to settle this. Since they already banned it... and it doesn't seem to have worked maybe they should legalize it?

Where do you get one? The property I bought already has it set up, water lines into the mountains, grow boxes, fenced off parcels. Told the cops, they don't care.

Don't waste your time trying to grow outdoors here the season is too short.. And with all the other grows in Colorado right now you will end up with cross pollination problems for sure.

Two barn shaped pieces of ply wood, and plastic stretched between them will get you a suitable green house for outdoor growing.

LOL, not really.. Maybe if you only wanted to grow 3 seasons but to grow year round here you need a bit more than a 2x4 frame with some plastic stretched over it. The occasional snow load alone would trash the plastic...

Well, I was thinking for personal use, and if you can't grow enough to hold you over the winter in three seasons, then maybe you smoke too much. heh ;)
