and I feel just fine and havnt even had the desire to have any smokes.
Dont get me wrong I enjoy smoking, but I can not for the life of me stand that ****ing smell and I always had to wash my hands after every smoke
if possible to do so.
Well done!
I imagine the everlasting presence of flammable fluids around your work site doesn't hurt, either...

I confess I have smoked a time or 2 on the rig floor and have not needed a skin graft [ROFL1]
That will be the test is driving in the winter tired as hell and not smoking as that was and is my trigger for smoking.

Quitting was the best thing I ever did!! I was smoking 2 packs of non filtered Camels a day when I said to hell with it. It is a tough road but stick to your guns and you'll be just fine!! Congrats!! [Beer]

I dont think its as tough as everyone makes it out to be.
I truthfully smoke for 2 reasons.
1. I enjoy it
2. It helps with ulcerative colitis flare ups (only thing tobacco is good for)
I will quit until my next flare up(a year or 2) and then start smoking to help the flare up go away then stop again until the next flare.

I quit twice, first time for 5 years. The second time for 3 years. There always seems to be a major incident that triggers a weak moment and I start smoking again.
Hope you can stick to the plan.[Luck]

Good luck!! Days 3-7 were the hardest for me. I'm going on like 75 days now I think. I still have one every couple of weeks or so, but not like a pack or anything. It will be when I'm out with the boys and drinking. Remember, if you slip up, it isn't the end of the world, just keep going on like you quit. I have friends that have tried to quit and make it a couple of days and think that because they were weak for a few minutes all the effort is over. It isn't.
keep up the good work! hopefully there is always something in the back of your head from now on saying "what's the point...it will only hurt me in the long run".

10 days after quiting smoking and feel great.
When I sliced myself open that night, I did break down and have a smoke, but that
was to calm my nerves when I realized how bad things could have gone.

Arterial bleeds, are they really that bad?
Glad you missed.

Congrats, stick to it.
It ain't that tough once you decide that you are a nonsmoker. I quit in late 2000 and have not had a smoke since.

Im right there with ya. Its very easy to stop because I cant stand the smell or the price.
The crappy part is that I will start smoking again sooner or later to help with a flare up from ulcerative colitis. Then when things are back to normal I will stop again.[Bang]

I'm going a year strong after quitting a can of Copenhagen a day for 15 years or so. I've quit before, but always got back on the wagon.
Now I treat it like those meth billboards: "Not even Once", and that has made all the difference in the world. Before when I'd quit, I'd go strong a month or two, then a buddy at the bar would have a can and I'd take one after I got a few beers in me. Then the next weekend a couple. Before I knew it I was buying my own can.
I know that if I never take that first chew again, I will never get addicted again. The secret to quitting is actually 100% quitting. Never even a single little puff/chew.

Good luck! I quit chewing now and then, but then I go to work and deal with people that send me off the wagon [Rant1]

I quit 4 months ago after 2 years of 1 pack of Marlboro reds a day and I still get the urge I've saved about 600 bucks so far and I bought myself a new ar15 with that money. I did bum a red from my buddy the other day and it was disgusting
Keep it up I haven't had one in 9mos[Luck]

I've seen someone whose feet are literally rotting off because their peripheral vascular disease was so bad. The smell was terrible. His toes were black and he had ulcers on his legs from vascular insufiency. The vascular team eventually signed off the case cause they never could find him. He was always going off in his motorized chair to go smoke.
This is going to sound cruel, but truth hurts. Smoking is one of the stupidest thing you can do to yourself for your health.
Glad you quit. Keep it up.

Congrats on quitting. I have tried many times and failed but will be giving it another try very soon. I really hate it and need to stop. I'll be starting the Naval Special Warfare training program soon and can't be smoking when I do that.
