ok long read,, but I need some fantasy advice! (dont laugh at me)[ROFL1]

Ok, I know it's not for some of you, but for the guys that play fantasy / commish a league, I have a problem.

One of the guys in my league does not play. we have a keeper league where you get to keep the majority of you team, trade for draft picks etc, a pretty expensive trophy that we put the names on every year (think stanley cup for the concept -doesnt look like that though) and there is a sizeable pot at the end of the year. its not vegas size winnings, but its kind of high stakes for our little group.

we have a rule that if you dont select your keepers by a certain date, that they are released to the draft, well this player didnt keep his guys, and negatively effected the league for a couple years (because guys that should be tied up with a team were released to teams that should not have the chance at guys like AP)

plus he just doesnt play every week.. sometimes starting bye players (we actually have a fine system in place, but it doesnt stop the guys. $10 per bye start, and we have fine this guy $40 or $50 a season. this year, his kicker (27th ranked kicker, shouldnt even be on a team in a standard espn 10 team league) goes on bye last week and he doesnt replace him. ok thats retarded cause he should have picked up another, but if he is in love with that kicker so be it. now this week, he is up against the guy that I am fighting for the division with. he has a full team able to play, but doesnt switch WR to flex etc. basically leaving a spot open. granted, I take it to seriously, but that really upsets me lol..

ok,, so what to do? (keep in mind im not the commish in this league but I have pull) disinvite the guy for next year? fine him heavily if he wants to keep paying? make him play every week with an open spot? whats fair to everybody and what would finally make this guy play?

alright,, sorry for the long read... Im just watching my divisional rival cruise to a victory in only the first half of footbal today.... [Beer]

I'd say throw is ass out of the league and replace him...On the other end it sounds like its easy money letting him play.

Kick him out. Or at least don't invite him back next year. We have had guys here and there that were like that- never kept up with their team and always seemed to have bye-week players in their starting spots, etc. We just don't let those guys back next season. There is always someone else who wants to play who takes winning seriously.

Yeah it sucks, cause this guy is a good friend. But we have a waiting list to get into this league.....been playing for years.... I would vote him out..

Howd everybody else do this weekend in fantasy?

Guys like that drive me nuts. I was part of a very, very serious fantasy league for a couple of years and realized that I couldn't keep up with their level of involvement so I pulled out with about 6 months notice so they could get the spot filled before the rookie draft.

Boot him and start interviewing for a replacement. Yeah, I said interview. I had 2 interviews to get in the league I had to leave.

As for how I'm doing this year, despite being blitzed at our draft, I'm 4-2 with a very strong team. Should be able to actually make some money this year.

Yeah, the last two spots we have had to replace, both took the dfl team, to the playoffs the next year. One won a championship within 3....

And looks like I'm falling to .500...... This week is whatever, last week I got unlucky. I have brady, welker, mccoy, and a bunch of guys that should be better, like roddy white, steven jackson etc... I could stil be ok....

The league that I left didn't allow you to take over a team. You had to draft it from available players after the rest of the league was able to pick over the team that was being disbanded.

It was a fully dynasty league with 3 year contracts and a salary cap. Salaries were based on free agent signings when players finished their contracts. It could have been a blast had I been able to dedicate some more time to it.

Drop him and dont invite him back. Sounds like he does it just to sound cool to his friends outside of your circle and his family etc.

I vote boot him too. In my league we have this dude that just traded Andre Johnson for Tim Tebow. Everyone jumped on his back for an unfair trade, so in protest he benched his entire team. We all voted and kicked his ass out.

We had someone trade Aaron Rodgers for Payton Manning right before the season started. We were all like "WTF?"

Never understood fantasy football.
I do, however, have an ongoing pool (since before I was born) with family and close friends of the family where we make our picks on all of the games for the week. Person with the most points wins, and its a pretty good chunk of cash. Its gone down the past couple years cause business is slower but it used to be a $2k buy-in and it looks like its headed back up.

I just hope that everybody votes him out with me.... Other wise it could be years before we have a chance again..
