So if I'm remembering correctly we do have a resident carpenter/wood worker correct?

Question for you: How much would it cost to build a dinner table like the one pictured below? Unfinished (we'll do that ourselves), some sort of big butcher block type hard wood, no chairs... though we are thinking about slab benches as well...

The top is the most$$$ part. Start here. http://www.mcmaster.com/#workbench-components/=eiuix9 The maple comes in a 2-1/4" that would work for what ya want. All kinds of sizes. The 1-3/4" is what I have for my work bench.

That is a nice table WOW.

It IS a gorgeous table. It was a wedding present from the father in law of a couple we know.

I used to have a table like that in college, but let it outside to get rained on and it got ruined. That table was AWESOME for poker parties. I wish I still had it.
