Does anyone know a decent and fast laser engraver in the N metro? I tried Mile High Laser Engraving, but dude only responds to emails, and when he does, it's 'call before you show', to which he never answers his phone.

I'm looking for a day or less turn around. I have my artwork ready in almost any format. Just need my charging handle engraved. I really don't want to leave my handle at a trophy shop for 2 weeks.....

I'm in Dacono, so Longmont/Boulder/Lafayette won't hurt, but I'm in the Thornton/Northglenn/Westminster area regularly.

You must have a MMJ card.

Otherwise, isn't "puff, puff, pass" the rule?

I don't think the Gunsmoke logo is what he wants engraved on his AR.

I don't think the Gunsmoke logo is what he wants engraved on his AR. I would not want it on a BB gun.

And you would be right. I don't want anyone's logo etched/engraved/marked on my guns but my own.

I really hoped this guy would work out, but alas, I'm still searching. He quoted me $40 to do a 4 letter etch on the rear of the handle. I've been quoted at 1/4 that price locally, but there, I'd have to wait up to a week.

drop it off now and for $10 you are GTG. might even ask them if they could get it done sooner, but for that price I doubt you will beat it.

I would pay twice that to have it done same day, so I don't have to leave my rifle disfunctional for a week, but $40- [ROFL2]

Why do you like / want laser "engraving"?

Yeah, I realize it's actually just an etch, but I like the finish and lack of depth (smooth). I have a rear slide cover done on my glock and I'd like it to match. Cost is another factor.

So you want it NOW but don't want to pay the "Want it Now price"???
Had you left it there, one more day and it might have been done. Now you still don't have it done and want it cheap.

Never left it there.

Keep in mind, this place is 30 miles from my house, and he'd have it done "either later that day- or a few days" Figure in 2hrs of driving back and forth on my day off, and inflation starts hitting that $40.

so take it to the local place, or call them, ask if they can have it done in 3 days for $20. it will save some time and gas. either way it sounds you are trying to get a lot of nothing. those machines aren't cheap.

Got the handle back today. He did great work. I would highly recommend him. Paid him double what he asked because he expedited it.

C.O.D. folks would get it. It's not scratched in the 'c', just looks that way for some reason. I'll get a better photo in the daylight tomorrow.

He quoted me $10. I gave him $20, since he was cool about putting the rush on it.

He did mention that he saved his setup in case he has to do it again. The laser doesn't have a vice, so he made something with styrofoam to hold it in place.

If you do take something to him, the best way is to either take the font file itself, or save whatever image you have in Windows Metafile format (apparently, it's one of the best for his setup). It is laser etched, so it's smooth to the touch, no depth at all.
