You should buy my Steyr in the for sale section. [Coffee]

Have you ever shot long range before? If not that seems like a pretty hefty investment for something you may find out you don't enjoy. You can start off with something much less expensive that probably shoots just as accurately to see if you like it first. If it were me I would purchase a rifle and scope for less and pump my money into ammo and range time.

The scout rifle is more a hunting gun , ie light , thin short barrel , etc . , not good or bad just some thing to consider . The rifle itself is good quality . I can't say on the price as the scout rifle concept always didn't make much sense to me . All the things that make it a good hunting gun make it harder to shoot accurately consistently if your looking for a target rifle you may be better off looking elsewhere .

It's supposed to come with those things and a pelican style case but he said those things wont be included in the deal, rifle only. You figure if he buys that for $1,500 he will still need to purchase a scope for it, unless he will be shooting long range with iron sites. A quick Google search looking at reviews, say it shoots about 1.2 MOA. You can buy a brand new Savage for 1/3 of the cost and have a rifle that will match or best the Steyr's accuracy (in capable hands). You can even find a "turn key" package with a scope (all be it a crappy one) and start shooting this weekend. Cool looking rifle but probably not a great fit.

The bipod on the scout rifles are are pair of plastic legs that fold down off the forend , the outside skin of the forend is the bipod . The bipod is nonadjustable for height and too tall for prone and too short for sitting . The way it is constructed makes it very flimsy and unstable when deployed .

If your friend was selling you the scout WITH the glass and case then $1500 would be a decent deal. Otherwise Ray's rifle will serve you just as well at a much better price.
