There are pistol competitions all up and down the front range every weekend. Check out the shooting sports section on the forum.

11/4 Indoor Combat Club at the Boulder Rifle Club. Low key and very fun. Your first time is free.

The best part is you don't need a "competition" pistol to compete, and depending on division/class you won't compete with the "nice Competition" guns either. I started out with a Springfield XD 3 years back.

I had some nice hardware in the past but I had to sell off quite a bit of my collection in the last 3 years. Is the Boulder gig a combat competition or is a wheel gun acceptable. I have a couple of auto loaders but I like my Anaconda for accuracy. Oned of these days I will have enough posts on here that they will let me post some trades and I can pick up some nice hardware again.

You already have 15 posts, so you should be gtg to post in the for sale section.
On the topic of competitons, I just attended my first pistol match yesterday, and had a great time. All you need is a gun w/holster, belt, 3-4 mags, and something to carry them in. Dont hesitate to attend an event, even if it's just to watch. There are great guys on this board, and I'm sure they'll make you feel welcome.
Unless they've changed something since last year, you CAN shoot a revolver at Boulder.

Revolvers are ok in Boulder but you will probably need enough reloders to shoot 25 to 30 rounds per stage.
