anyone one familiar w/ access in this unit? not really looking for particulars, maybe just some vague advice where to get on public land off of csh 125?

Yes 18/181 (it should state on your carcass tag that they are combined)- I was there first season. not much activity this year or last. Am told the elk in the area had a few issues with last winter. saw one young buck - barely legal if at all and didnt have a shot.

You can hike in on trail creek trail. Or you can drive thru willow creek pass and use the forest service roads to cross back into 18 thru troublesome pass. BTW the property near the lake is private so avoid it. tom

On the eastern side of 125 the last road to the east which goes thru to hwy 34 would allow you to go to the Illinois pass trail. They have added a new atv trail off of that that will take you closer to the never summer wilderness. Before you get to the pass the continental divide trail crosses the atv trail. tom
