Seems the police had a free exotic animal hunting trip right here in the United States. Most people pay a lot of money and travel half way around the world to do this kind of hunting.

Why can't something like that happen here?
Sounds like a fun time.

Come on. You can't just say that without explaining why.

Yep...my sentiments exactly. The reason is because the guy was a total douchebag to set the animals free knowing he was going to kill himself. It's just a tremendous waste of beautiful animals.

He couldn't make a phone call or two to find a zoo willing to take them?

This is one of the coolest places my wife and I have been. They are really doing an incredible thing up there. Great place to take the wife/girlfriend and kids. It's 10 dollars an adult, don't remember the kid's price, but its completely tax deductible. They are doing a major expansion to extend their overhead ramp a mile over the property. They said its fun to watch the tigers and lions play in the snow.

Places like this would have most definitely taken all or part of the animals.

yup, the guy that owned the place set the animals free then committed suicide.

the authorities tried to tranq a bengal, it charged and they had to put it down. they didn't have the resources to round up all the animals, so they shot them.

lions and bears, big deal.

but there are less than 2000 bengal tigers left in the world, and they killed 17 of them.

pardon my french but it's a goddam disaster.

even Jack Hannah agreed they did the right thing considering the situation. It is another case of "not the animals fault", and it is an unfortunate situation, but they did the right thing. What would you rather have....lions and tigers and bears running around with children all over thinking it is a damn petting zoo? Too bad they could tranq them, but given the situation and number of animals they got the job done as best as they could.

I think more people here at mad at the d-bag owner than the police officers who were ordered to put them down.

I don't care if it is the very last of a dying species, people over animals EVERY time. It is just incredibly selfish and ridiculous that this guy would let all of his animals go in one last attempt at revenge against his neighbors.

Sounds like the guy was unstable to begin with. It's sad that the animals had to be put down because of this ass.

Wonder how this will effect other private exotic animals "sanctuaries"?

Did you know that there are more Burmese Tigers in Texas than there are in Burma?

True story.

They're probably bigger too. Everything's bigger in Texas. [Coffee]
