October 9th --- Submitted forms to Sheriff
November 16th --- Signed and received back in mail from Sheriff
November 21st --- Forms in mail to BATF
November 27th --- $200 check cashed by BATF and posted to bank account
December 22nd --- Forms approved by BATF
December 28th --- Forms arrived at dealer and picked up can

Found out my form 4's are on the Sheriffs desk for signature, how are they usually returned to you. Are they mailed or do they call you to pick them up.

And if they are on the Sheriff's desk for signature, does that mean that Sgt Webb will not be asking for a site inspection for a safe or does he require that after they are signed.

October 9th is when I dropped them off, however with that school shooting that some Jefferson county personnel were involved with and the election going on I did not expect them to be very quick to get them signed.

Paperwork back from Sheriff

Submitted October 9th, received back in the mail November 16th

Total time for signature 39 days.

Good deal it is getting back to the way it was when Ester was doing it.

ATF is also getting very fast Jimmy just sent in 3 form 4's all personal transfers and it was 12 days mail box to mail box. Alan said it was a record never seen that before.

I sent a form 4 to ATF on Monday the 12th guess I will see if I am as lucky as Jimmy was.

you have to wait for them to be mailed to you?
i make apt with the sheriff gio in chat while he does quick b/g check. he signs off and i mail paperwork that day.
turn around time from atfE is my hangup. they cashed check 2.5 weeks ago. and haven't done anything else according to the 'lad" i spoke with on friday.

Forms in the mail to ATF today...........tick,tick,tick,tick.......Hopefull y the stamp will be in hand by the end of December.

lets race. i also mailed mine on the 21st, they recieved it on the 25th, and the check cleared on the 28th.

i was approved 12-15-06 with the snow and mail delays it still hasn't reached my FFL :-x

I called today, I sent my forms 11-12 and it was approved on 12-20 guess I will see what happens.

Talked to Alan today and he has not seen them but it is the busiest season of the year for USPS.

As soon as SWR puts them in production I will have one of these on the way. They are saying early January.

how did you find out your stuff was approved before you got it in the mail?

you can call NFA anytime after you find your check has cleared to check status. i suggest waiting 2-3 weeks after they cashed your check.
sometimes it's a hasle to stay legal

thanks for the number i didn't even know you could do that. by the way approved Dec 19th. now all i need to do is put my mail box back up. the wind out here is bad.

everything goes to your ffl. my ffl FINALLY received my tax stamp today. with the road conditions it was as much a horror show getting there as it was dealing with the nfa branch. who "kind of" misplaced my paperwork.
oh well i'm done buying suppressors

i guess you won the race. what kind did you get? i already have a gemtec outback2, this one is a gemtec halo. now i need one for my M11.
next on my list before that is one of these. i think i'm going to order it this week.
