i just traded my colt detective 38spl for a brand new glock 36. the single stack .45. hes a friend, collects colts.

anyone owned one? i havent got to shoot it yet, been so busy with work + the weather out here sucks, bad.

any ammo recomendations? will everything function good through it? i have owned a glock 30, i did have a few issues with it.
i picked up a box of remington golden saber 230 gr, and a couple boxes of cci blazer 230gr. im not a big fan of the blazers, but they were cheap.

any feedback/experience?

I bought one before the October North Shoot. I put 200 rounds through it and didn't have any issues. At the distance I was shooting the 230gr bullets were impacting a couple of inches high. I shot some 185gr Corbon +Ps and the POI was POA. It could have been that I'm not use to the white outline rear and dot front.

I just installed Ameriglo 3-dot night sights tonight and have a C-T.A.C. holster in route. The 6 round mags are a PITA since they don't last long during practice so I bought 4 used mags from CDNN.

I tried all kinds of ammo and even finished up my last box of crappy AMERC ammo without a hitch. I put 2 boxes of CCI Blazer through it. Blazer is apparently a Glock recommended brand.

I see your G36 has the newer extractor with the 'loaded chamber indicator' bump on it.

yes, yes it does. first time i have seen it. its nice, a quick flick upwards from the trigger finger and you can verify that the chamber is occupied. a nice feature.

i have 2 nice hard plastic holsters. not sure of brand, i will dig them out if interested and take pics. one is a slide over the belt into pants (gun still on outside the pants, not a inside pant holster) the other is a standard belt loop. both are (i assume becuase of how well the fit is) made specifically for the g36

hah, maybe thats because they arnt reloadable. glock seems to have a serious stand on not firing any reloaded round in any glock. if your using a exposed lead slug, i guess i can see why. but whats the real problem? seems if done right there shouldnt be any problems. of course NOT using blazer casings.....

I just traded my Glock 36. It was a great gun. It ate anything, shot real good, and carried nice and easy. I reloaded for it also I used 230 grain FMJs and Unique powder. I kept the reloads to middle of the road pressures just because of all the press about Kabooms and Glocks.

The only reason I got rid of it was because a co-worker wanted to trade a Series 70 Colt Gold Cup for it.

I had one and it was very accurate and reliable...very easy to shoot well

I shoot 1911's so 6 rounds was not that big a comedown....think of it as reloading practice :-)

On the subject of reloading...I sold the pistol because it had a tendency to "bite" me when doing a speed reload

I am anxiously awaiting the G36T and sincerely hope it has a slightly longer grip to go with the slightly longer slide

This is the second time I've seen a reference to a G36T. Where can I find info about the pistol?

There is some scuttlebut on glocktalk...which is about the only reason I EVER go there

I caught wind of it from John Farnam

Should be introduced at the next SHOT Show

I did a search over on GlockTalk and found that. It's still vaporware as far as I'm concerned.

I have one. It has been a good gun. Never missed a beat.I put the mag extension on all my mags and that helps with the grip a little better.(especially if you have large hands) It also hadds another round the the capacity.

On my last outing I ran some 200gr +P Gold Dots through the G36. Nice!

My Tucker Texas Heritage IWB holster showed up too. Very nice!
