hey guys. I feel pretty ****ty about havin to ask this on a public forum, but i guess you can all just have a good laugh[Coffee]

Any of you in the Northern Colorado area own a business that is looking to hire some help? I'm not picky about a job, and am a very hard worker. I'm a Diesel Mechanic by trade, but since movin out here to CO, haven't had any luck findin a job.

I'm also good with ranch work and manual labor. Anything basically.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks guys!

Check with the oil companies, we have a LOT in CO and they love their diesel mechanics. Us lowly automotive techs they couldn't care less about. :-(

I've tried contacting them multiple times, and submitted my resume. I have not heard anything back from them. Thanks for that information though

Grand Junction truck dealers have banners out advertising for diesel mechs. I know it means moving over the mountain. Thought I'd throw it out there.

you must not be looking in the same places i am. the greeley tribune, Craig's List and Coloradoan all have multiple listings for wrenches in the NoCo area. All it takes is some time browsing the web. OR go to the job service off O street in greeley by the lic plate office.

I have always found I can, if I want to, get a job as a wrench pretty quick. Not always a good job, but a job.

I work here. Office is on 1st ave in Greeley. I will remain anonymous [Tooth] but there are plenty of opportunities with this company if you're looking for anything in the oil field.

If you are looking for wrenching duties, the frac crews around weld county might be looking for a mechanic....

calfrac? in platteville is always looking for good wrenches. Downside, as with a fair amount of roughneck companies, they have a decent amount of ex felons on the payroll. Not that there is anything wrong with that as everyone deserves a second (only) chance. However i know a wrench down there and he always locks his tools up when not in the area.

Again you must not be looking in the right place,or have enough time / experience for some companies .
The downside to job hunting in todays world of e-m or fax your resume is not having that actual contact between employer and potential new hire. I am old school and always went looking for a job at the place that was hiring, not online. FTF contact gives the employer a look at you, feel for your sincerity in wanting to work and as always a good handshake before and after the interview. When i went back into the job hunting pool it became very depressing not knowing if the job even looked at your CV, disregarded it due to age, etc.

I agree Jim. Even being a young guy myself, I HATE online applications. I've applied for a good amount of jobs, but like you said i don't even know if they look at my application or resume. Most of them i never hear back from. The ones i have heard back say i dont have enough experience (most want 5+ years) or they say i have too much experience to start at the bottom. Frustrating doesnt even begin to describe it...

Experience needed, would like to see 4 yrs in compression experience. Must have an awsome attitude and high caliber of dependability amongst your co-workers. We have a good time here and its very rare we have openings in Durango.

If you have experience with Cat 3516, 3306, 3304, Waukesha, Arrow engines, or Aerial recips, and want to live in and be able to afford Durango, PM me and I can give you details.

You can pretty much be set for life with this company.

As dad always said "A good mechanic will never go hungary."

This is actually getting to be more and more not true. With flat rate once you get to a certain pay grade they feed you the crap diagnostics you can't make money on. They give the gravy to the guy making 10 bucks an hour and **** the Master Tech.
