Fun fun fun drive to work today from 6th & Simms to Evergreen. Just a word to those of you who may be headed West from the Metro Area today- I-70 is half country road, half parking lot. I don't think I went over 35MPH, it looks like they haven't plowed since 3 AM, and to make matters worse I passed 2 Kalifornians and 1 Texan. Did everyone from out of state just move here recently or something? 99% of the cars I shared the road with this morning on my commute had no idea how to drive in a little snow. Okay, so it wasn't a little, it was a lot, but still, I grew up here, learned to drive in some of the worst conditions- and spent 3 years in Northern NY where the snow is 10x worse than this.

Okay, the real reason for this post, for the love of everything holy and for your family's sake, don't drive today unless you absolutely have to. The conditions are terrible! Please be safe fellow AR lovers, because today is going to be a rough day for plow truck drivers, EMS/Fire, LE, and those of us in the transportation industry. Yikes! Be careful!

I love it except the trees are loading up and branches are hanging low.

My back and front yard look like a war zone 50% of the tree limbs snapped off last night. One huge one broke my kids swing set. Gonna be fun once it melts. Kids school called a snow day not sure why, maybe the the tree limb that ripped the power lines down in front of the school.

Love the snow, but really taking a toll on the trees. Just helped my neighbor remove a big branch from out of her driveway. Probably about a 10-11 inch branch taken out by too much weight.

I looked outside, yup there is snow out there.
Maybe I'll go outside tomorrow and plow it.
Maybe not.

Pook, 12-14! Wow! We're at about 11" now I think... And Doc, it's far from over, supposed to snow until about 6PM. Sweet! Just wish I had my ski pass already, I'd be up at A-Basin right now.

Just got done shoveling the walk. Stupid dog kept knocking snow back onto the walk.
It didn't kick my arse like it use to. Maybe I'm in better shape these days?
I have snow stuck on branches. Tried hitting it with a shovel kicking it. No dice on the bigger trunks. I think I'm going ram it with a truck a little maybe that will knock the snow off branches hanging on the power lines.

Our trees aren't doing so hot and I forgot how much I hate shoveling.

Spray it with a hose as the Moron Mike Nelson said to do this morning on the news.

I drove I-76 at almost speed this morning, no slick spots. They shut down the job. Might have been more for the mud than anything else. They didn't consult me.

Coming home, wasn't that bad. I ran almost speed all the way home.

Looks like about 6" give or take in the backyard. Few broken branches. Other than that, no big deal.

Obeyme had I-25 and I-70 closed on the way home at 11 a.m. plus the snow.

Well, now we have almost half as much snow as we got all of last winter but this storm was a dud. We have about 7" on the grass but the roads, driveway and sidewalks are all clear because they were too warm.

Cleared some snow off the trees and roses and that's it. No shoveling needed today. Not worth a "Winter Storm Warning" IMO.

Live in Cos, work 20 min South of Pueblo... easy drive for me in my little 4 banger whether on I-25 or up in my little mountain backroads I must take. Not so easy for the several (out of and in state) trucks. Never understand why most people can't drive... Even had one semi flipped on S-bound I-25 this morn, but I bet it was anbother drivers fault.. I'm thinking the little nissan Z that passed me going at least 90 in the snow storm...

Anyways, please be safe...

I'm seriously entertaining the idea of making a Tannerite snowman shoot house... somewhere out on the prairie...

Since I can work from home I did today (any excuse for that). lots & lots of branches down. At least 3 trees are dead/gone (no more branches, 1 just fell over completely). luckily they are all next door.

lost power around 2am for a couple hours.

Tree folks have got to be cheering, lots of work in their future.

Okay guys, I'm living vicariously through your snow! I neeeeeeed pictures of snow!!!

I wish I was still up in Colorado, there's nothing like the first snow of the year. Sadly, I still won't get snow down here for another couple of weeks. At least I'm fortunate enough to live and work at 9000ft in New Mexico and get some snow each year.
