I bent the hell out of my recoil spring tonight while cleaning my rifle. Does anyone know of a place locally that would have one? I'm not keen on paying $6 in shipping for a $6 part.

I don't but I would suggest buying 2 unless you are a very careful person..

Got a pic of it, with a ruler next to it for size reference? I may have one laying around I could send you.
Anyone know if there is a difference in new model and old model M-60 spring?

when I kinked mine, I found some spring stock that was the right gauge and OD, and just cut it to fit. Its a little lighter than the original part, but I havent had a problem.
That is a common problem with those Rifles usually your average Gunsmith will have one handy. When I bent mine I went to a local smith and he had 3 of them.

I think I might just order 2 or 3. It was damn easy to kink.

Might as well have an extra on hand, just in case.
About the free one I was going to send you, I'll just keep it around, just in case.

I definitely appreciate the offer. I'll let you know if I manage to destroy the two that I order. [Tooth]

The first time a Marlin 60 is taking apart for cleaning it usually happens especially if you are not familiar with that fire arm, but it usually happens once. If you would like I could tell you how I assemble mine but BP would be the best person to get info from.

I've owned my Model 60 for 6+ years and have probably put 3k+ rounds through it. I'm amazed that it stayed reliable this long. This was my first time stripping it to clean it. Hopefully next time will go smoother.

I have 2 model 60's and love them. One needs a new recoil spring. Could a good smith make one?

I imagine one could but I'd just spend the $6 and order one.
