So some a$$ clown got a hold of my info name, phone number, email address and had been posting on crags list that I have an iPad for sale for $275. As you can well imagine my email, phone and text has been getting blow up. My question is what kind of a giant a$$ hole do you have to be to pull that kind of $hit. You have to be some small dicked looser to do that stuff. Hope you don't get jacked with like that. [Rant2] [Rant1] [M2]

You'd be shocked how much this happens. I'm pretty sure there's some kind of recourse against it... try emailing the Craigslist people about it. Or you could just flag the ad.
I remember a few years ago putting a "big movie collection" up in the free section, with a picture in the description of a box full of porn movies, and a buddy's phone number on it. People calling him a few times an hour for his Big Box of Porn.... that was good entertainment [ROFL1] Took it down after a couple days though.

haha I did this to my dad for april 1st with his new HD chopper he just built I put it on Craigs for 2000 bucks it was pretty fn funny he was pissed

A friend and I continually mess with each other and I posted his $1200 guitar on Craigslist for $50 "because he just couldn't sound like Monkey from Korn and was frustrated and wanted it gone". I was with him when his phone started blowing up- he couldn't even tell people that it wasn't for sale without someone calling on the other line. He was so confused and then frustrated. It was amazing, and everything I could do to not die laughing. He flagged it after 15 minutes or so but still had 30 some voicemails.
Sorry it happened to you- I swear it wasn't me :)
Edit: I hope that doesn't make me a small D*** loser..

Sorry you're going through this mess ... but thanks for posting about it as I was looking for a way to get even with this asshat I know.
Ever read any of those "Dirty Tricks" and "Get Even" books? They pre-date Craigslist by many years, but are full of similar tricks. Like ordering a bunch of porn mag subscriptions for your target, and having them mailed to his church. Placing for sale ads for all his stuff in every paper in the county, ordering a dump truck full of gravel delivered...in his yard, because "he's tired of keeping up the grass and is going with a rock garden". Some are pretty damn nasty too.

I've flagged it as spam a couple of times. It was posted in a couple of Colorado cities. Total delta bravo. If it isn't spam and someone being funny or has an issue....

either way, get the craigslist IDs for each of the ads. report it to craigslist. If he happens to have an account of his own or a phone number attached (unless he is using your account to post), then there can be serious fines as well as legal ramifications. harassment as well as identity theft and imposter.
more than likely it is someone you know pulling a prank. Other than that you were probably a dick to someone and they are getting back at you. that is the way it works[NoEvil]

Par for the course with some of the clowns that I work with. $15,000 vehicles listed on CL for $6,000. Granted they only use your cellphone and cancel the ad after a couple hours. Just enough to give ya 20 missed calls and fill up your voice mail.
