Last year we had almost 140 little (and not so little) trick-or-treaters ... Its almost 8:30 and we've only had about 50.
What the hell am I going to do with all this leftover candy? [insert evil laugh]

Come up to Berthoud! More high school kids than kiddos!!! I'm not that old, but with a young one trying to sleep upstairs I'm over it!!! Funny how the night goes on the costumes turn into jeans and backwards caps and cigarettes!! Finally got the ol lady to shut off the light!!!.....finally the candy is all mine!...I mean....wait...

Just closed up for the night. Only about 60. I have to say it runs hot and cold here. One year we have 120 next we have 50. The weather seems to have nothing to do with it.
Normally we have the little ones start at 5 and then the older ones later. Our first one was not until 6pm. And this year we had 6 houses lit up within a block. Last year there were only 4 of us.
Two things I did notice this year. Lack of Hispanic kids and a lack of older kids. Normally the older ones are heavy between 7-8 pm. Almost none this year.

BB King- "The Thrill is Gone". I was a kid in the late 60's. We went out several times during the night, going farther and farther from home. Long after dark. No worries, no frights. Things are different now. If I had kids of "that" age, I would NOT take them trick-or-treating. We would go to a haunted house and a Halloween party. We are evolving.
6 kids total tonight. Complete bust.
More peanut butter cups for me so its not a bad thing.

Your children will not forget and make you pay later in life. Never mess with your children's Halloween.[Coffee]And if you only gave away $10 in candy you are a cheap skate. We buy At least $30 worth every year. Think about it this way.
Give the 8 year old a couple of good candy bars and when he is 16 he may not rob ya because you were good to him. ;)

Maybe about 50 here...much less than normal. Darn near no high school kids.
Little ones started at about 6:00. Not many from 7-8. Then after 8 none spoke english...

Really slow here too. Not even 1/2 of last year. The worst thing is that the wife didn't get any Smarties or Neco wafers this year. Classic Halloween candy.

There were 150-200 kids in one block when I was driving home from work and only half of them were high schoolers smoking cigarettes.
And the pussification of America continues.....
I got zero, but I'm in an apartment.
when I was a kid my mom gave out dimes. yeah.

Similar story here, we usually have a LOT of kids that drive into our neighborhood (I live in Pleasant Valley). The usual contengent of Coronado high drama kids never showed and neither did all the latino kids. Also we usually get lots of large groups of kids but tonight was lots of single kids (of course each of them had an entourage of 4-5 adults 'cause apparently every parent out there is a helicopter parent ... sheesh, I remember trick-or-treating on my own when I was 7)
What part of town you in Jerry?

I remember getting money on Halloween.
No kids again this year, glad I didn't buy any candy.
We got maybe four, no more than six.
Keep in mind that it is Monday night. I bet there'd be a lot more if it were Saturday night.
I'm old enough to remember getting caramel apples and popcorn balls. Give kids things like that nowadays, and you'll have the SWAT team bashing in your door.

yeah, the day kind of put a wet blanket on this year.
i had to work so I don't know how many we had or if my wife even turned the light on with our 5 week old...probably didn't want the dogs going nuts every time

reports are that Little-Byte dressed as Sponge Bob Squarepants and made out like a bandit.
He was last seen running across the ceiling screaming TRICKER TREATS! over and over. I last spoke with him shortly after midnight and he still sounded like Boomhower from King of the Hill.

Had a date tonight, so no idea if anyone even came by but I had the lights off and the gate closed. Didn't see anybody around the neighborhood before leaving or after we got back to my place.
My favorite part of Halloween: going to Wal Mart the day after and getting huge bags of candy for dirt cheap.
8 bags of candy and 8 kids all night. If I would have known, I would have just given them each a whole bag. Now what the hell am i going to do with all those skittles? Should have bought reeces. When I was a kid I did not stop until either my pillow case was full, or I got a pnemonia.
Now what the hell am i going to do with all those skittles?
Skittles and Mountain Dew, the breakfast of computer programmers!

not one trick or treater for us last night. was a bummer, but not really surprising in Denver. A lot has changed since I was a kid in Pine Junction in a costume made to fit over a snow suit, and going out by ourselves

We had three, and they were all our grandkids. Of course, our house is just a bit remote, especially at night.

I happen to know of very reputable peanut butter cup disposal professional (who has been in the business for 3 decades) to help you with that problem Hoser.
We had the usual gaggle of kiddos from the neighborhood and still have leftover candy. I swear Ellie's candy basket was full within the first 8 houses though. She was getting multiple handfuls from every house.

I went through two huge bags of the good stuff.. ran out to the store for more.. and only 3 kids after.. the last group got a whole bag of butterfinger, and kit kat.
I still have this hugemungo bag of sweet tarts and nerds and whatever else will cause me to go into a sugar induced coma!
As for the parents there were more of them out than kids...
I did have a 14yr old ish girl say she took off her fairy wings, and is now going as a hooker.

I give out microwave popcorn bags, they love it and if there is left over, I don't eat it and get fat.
