I will start it off.
I had a day off this Sunday and headed to the range with a friend and his son. His son had never shot a 50 before so I brought my Barrett and my AI-X.
By the time the dust had settled we had fired about 30 rounds. Taking pics the whole time. With each shot the camera snapped 10 pictures. But the only way to grab a picture of the muzzle flash was a video grab. Somewhere among over 230 gns of Vhit 20N29 there is a rifle and shooter.

Definitely the first time I've seen a photo of a paper target, shot with a .50, at 100 yards.

This is my AMAC single shot .50BMG. Weighs around 35 lbs plus scope which is the Leupold Mark IV with Mil Dots in 16X. At least I am only about a half hour away from the NRA Whittington range at Raton, NM, which has a 1,000 yard range which will is available to accommodate the .50BMG shooters. However, I still enjoy much more firing this one on their 200 yard range as that 1,000 yards is just a little far from my old ancient eyes. NO, the flag pole is not really leaning, I just failed to hold the camera parallel to the ground.

Yes, this is a real TAC-50 McMillan (http://mcmillanusa.com/mcmillan-rifles-tactical-tac-50.php) .50cal rifle. All 28lbs of it. Nightforce scope for those that are curious. No, it's not mine. I just got to drool over it. The owner of this fine rifle also owns a full-auto Browning 1919 and a 4-digit serial M14.

[facepalm]haha. yea...sorry forgot to specify...it was me holding her .50 and irving I had her take that pic because all the other ones didnt really do it justice on how big the damn thing is. its at least 4" taller than I am sitting on the ground, I'm 5'5''.

A picture from my last venture down to Whittington to fire a few rounds of .50 BMG. In this picture I'm getting ready to touch off another round. I always alert the guys sitting at any near by benches that they should be sure to have their ear protection on when I'm about to shoot this one because the muzzle brake does make the report rather intense on both sides of this gun.

Last time I shot one, we got the friends and family discount at $3/rd @cost. Normal rental price was $5/rd and that was several years ago.

I bought a mag for a friend and thought he shot 4 rounds of the 10 and figured out he only shot 3 when the bolt didn't lock back after 6.

50 rounds of that silliness is about guaranteed to detach a retina or two. I have enough time behind a fifty that one round seemed like plenty that day.
shot a few prairie dogs with one several years ago. A friend of mine took his turn and missed, shot low, and that prairie dog launched higher then any I've ever seen before or since. Killed it without even hitting it.

Sounds like a suppressed 308 and doesn't beat the shit out of you like my old AAC Cyclops did.

I fired 3 rounds from an AR-50 once, on the first day I went to Ben Lomond Gun Club as a new member. Hit the steel target at 600 yards all 3 times, it was so cool! I hadn't really fired real rifles much at all, other than my .22, so I was amazed that I hit the target.
Then I fired a short belt through an M2HB at an MG shoot in Cheyenne Wells, that was a thrill! This is a frame from a video I took that same day of someone else on a different M2HB, I think this is a cool photo.....

My grandson firing the same M2 I fired, he's 28 now, in the Navy for 5 years, married w/2 stepsons and a baby on the way, a homeowner in Norman, OK, and considering re-enlisting. Real proud of him....
One of the biggest, baddest, machineguns of all time, yet SO easy to shoot! It was amazing - a bucket list item for sure.

I keep my loaded ammo in cans set up with inserts. 50 rounds is an easy range day and the cans dont weigh too much.
