My FIL and I go trap shooting every other weekend. He started reloading to help with the cost and when I went to shoot his reloads 1 out of ever 5 would stick and I was unable to open my gun (had to tap the stock on something to get it to open). This lead me to believe my firing pin was sticking in the primer. But it did not seem to be an issue with factory loads. Last time I went out I had a few primers with char marks on them (pictured below). It looks like my firing pin is pushing so far into the primer its allowing some blow back (looks like a needle prick right in the center of the primer, cannot see this in the picture).
So I am guessing my gun is unsafe to fire, but do I need to take it apart and clean the retracting spring or get BPtac to shave my firing pin?
Any ideas would be welcome.
