I got a great job offer - in Texas. My wife and I don't really have any intention of staying there for more than a few years, so we wouldn't even sell our house here. We'd rent out our house.

I just got my CHP here. I don't really want to go through all the crap to get it in Texas, and then go through all the crap here when I come back here again.

Anybody been in a similar scenario? Any advice? Should I just bite the bullet and go through the process in Texas?

Only way to be legal. Your Colorado permit will not be valid after you establish residency in Texas.

the up side both ways is you can transfer your ccw w/out needing to retake another class or course. Both states will have a waiting period while they do BG checks on you. Upside is no BG checks at gunshows in tejas.

Read the info for CCW once you get to texas, or go to AR15.com then to the texas hometown forum. Here in Co IIRC 90 days? once you get a CO DL or CO ID.
