In the evening, I often sit on the sofa next to my wife. We both have our laptops and we surf together. Today she destroyed my surfing solitude with this gem:

So apparently even a badass DI slows down enough in his elder years to admire the fine art of knitting. OooRah! [ROFL1]

Haven't you seen Demolition man? gheesh.

On a side note, I learned how to sew when I was little, and my dad knew how to sew well. Actually the majority of military guys would understand that it is a skill nice to have, that **** gets expensive turning in a dozen shirts to get a new rank, base, whatever sewn on your uniforms.

Well I've been out for about 11 years now, and I'd be willing to bet good money that there isn't any velcro on a dress uniform.

My thoughts exactly. He is being super sneaky ninja skill action going on there in event of an attempted take over. [Beer]

Do not, for a single second, think that a Marine of His Caliber would carry anything less than the sidearm that has won 2 world wars and countless "armed conflicts"

see examples (http://forums.1911forum.com/showthread.php?t=325656)

I would not be surprised that he or his firearm is not pictured.

You are totally missing the point..

Do you know how many old women can't get on the plane with knitting needles.. ?

Next you're going to tell me I should be making my own sandwiches.

My thoughts exactly. Nothing against Glocks, but he surely prefers a 45.

Very interesting...

But you know Glock pays him to be there and NOT have a 1911, right?

Wonder what he really prefers when he isn't being paid by Glock?

Can't he have both? Can't he like both? I have a 1911 and a Glock 22... They are like my children, sure the Glock was acquired first, but I love them equally. I honestly don't understand people picking two sides of this, Glock vs 1911, it's not like Glocks are for Democrats and 1911s are for Republicans; we all know the truth, Democrats hate guns!

Yes, he can like both.

I like both, they serve different purposes.
A 1911 is what you show your buddies... a Glock is what you show your enemies.

That's an Army thing, the Marines still sew their patches and whatnot on.
