I cannot stand Nickelback- I think they don't make very good music and I hate how they are lumped into the same "genre" as Pearl Jam (one of my favorite early 90's bands) and now they're playing half-time on Thanksgiving for the Lions/Packers game and nobody wants the Canadian band there... I read it here. (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_corner/post/Detroit-wants-to-disinvite-Nickelback-from-its-T?urn=nfl-wp11074)
I almost choked on my coffee from laughter after reading that! [LOL]

There hasn't been any good NEW music since Stevie Ray Vaughn died.

On a side note the guitarist for GWAR was found dead this morning.

I wonder if the members of Nickelback listen to their own music, or do they prefer to listen to something else like the rest of everyone?!

I effing hate Nickleback. With a passion. [Rant1] But here's the real question:

Who sucks more? Nickleback or Creed?

Nickleback hands down. Creed's 'My Own Prison' wasn't horrible. Not great, but not horrible. Of course, that was hearing it before finding out what a tool Stapp was/is.

I heard a song once called "Even Jesus Hates Creed".

But I'd probably have to say Nickleback as well. But it's a close call.

Nickle back, 50 cents, sounds like low budget to me.

Gimme some DAC.

I personally hate Nickelback more, but I effing hate Scott Stapp with the passionate fire of a 1,000 red giant stars (for those who don't watch Sciency documentaries like "the Universe" that's a lot of fire!). I think Stapp copies the vocal style of Eddie Vedder (one of my favorite singers)... seriously, just listen to "Jeremy" by PJ, then "Arms Wide Open" and tell me Stapp isn't trying to rip off Vedder.

Spot on analysis.

I am coming out of the closet to say, I like Nickelback. :) I usually listen to much harder rock, but I like the guitar tone the guy has.

"...MC5 to Mitch Ryder, from Bob Seger to "Detroit Rock City," from Kid Rock to "8 Mile, the city of Detroit has a rich history when it comes to all kinds of rock and roll"

Sound like they should stick with Nickelback. [Sofa]

Radio...It just likes to shove what ever the programming director thinks will sell. I get sick of KBPI after the first 3 hours, then it all repeats itself.

I like the sound of the lead singer of Creed. But, I can't say I enjoy any of their (or Nickelback's) music.

I've never understood the abject hatred for Creed and Nickelback... they're mediocre bar bands that despite being derivative of other better bands have somehow found financial success but its not like they're as bad as 99% of the crap the kids are listening to these days.

I confess to cranking up a song or two of theirs every once in a while, but when they came out with Next Contestant (vid (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vdBeRjqTBcg), lyrics (http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/nickelback/nextcontestant.html)) I had flashback after flashback of idiots from my days working security at titty bars back in TX. These mental midgets would finally land their "dream girl" and start dating one of the dancers. Suddenly they start wanting to fight anyone and everyone in the club who comes near her.

Man, those places were a study in sociology.[Swim]

Also this. I think it is funny that everyone picks on them.

I get very annoyed by the VERY dumb lines in hip hop music.
