Hopefully the mods will have retained all post up until the "issues" caused the site to go down. Either way just a reminder regarding the AK build this saturday 5-12

Spray it down with some CRC or other aerosol lube/ rust inhibitor.

If I dont get it done before the move I'll just leave it unassembled and spray down with crc so I can give it my magic touch before parking it.

MAKE SURE YOU BRING TOOLS, DRILL BITS, PUNCHES ETC. We supply press, spot welders, drill press, head space gauges. if you have a HS gauge Bring it. There are 2 hardware stores in town if you need a drill bit or punch. I have more broken bits and punches that i use to:(

Third cycle,its starting to get some decent color.I think one more coat should do it then off to oil and buff.

OK if I come up again, I've got nothing to work on, but I would like to learn some more. I'm gonna order a kit from AK-builder but have some questions before I do. Also I neglected to give you a few bucks for a broken punch last time so I'd like to make that right.

I'm in the same situation. I am just coming up to help and learn. I am going to pick up an RPK in the future to put together. But I figured getting a chance to see stuff in action will help me to not waste money here and there.

Third cycle,its starting to get some decent color.I think one more coat should do it then off to oil and buff.

When I get out there I'll probably break down and soda blast the park off the front end and rust blue the whole thing.I would do it here,but if I dont stay on top of it the rust buildup could pit it-out here you can hear stuff rust in the night!!!
At least out there its a slow moving process and I wont have to worry if i miss a night.

I still have that virgin Yugo trunnion ;)

I am researching the costs to do that bullpup RPK. Saving money for the goodies. Maybe have the stuff by next build. If you guys need more room, I would be happy to have it at my shop.

ahhh yes the bullpup rpk sounds interesting (like i said i personally am not a bullpup fan but sounds neat either way)

by the way the guy i picked up the tooling from is the one who made the bending jig, he said he'll make a yugo inner die for me!! :)
