Is there such a thing as curio and relic matches?

I've often thought it would be cool to have a curio and relic shoot.
It would be cheap enough that the shooter would not have to have a small fortune tied up in guns, scopes, reloading stuff and the ammunition would be affordable. That would be an excellent place to start.

Come on out to Golden Gun Club on the third Saturday of the month. We shoot Service Rifle, and all ablilities are welcome. I'm a relative newbie, as I just started shooting matches about a year ago. I'm not a very good shot either. :cool:

Cost is $12

Practice starts at 9:00, the match starts at 10:00. (the calender on the websight is incorrect) We shoot four strings of 10, prone, off hand and siting, with three single shot specials at the end of the match. I take about 100 rounds with me.

I shoot an AR15, the M1 Garand is also a popular choice, with a few M1A's a couple 1903's, A occasional FAL, etc. Match grade rifles are not permitted.

You don't need to be a member. There is a match tomorrow morning, and I'll be there. Just ask for Jason, and come over and introduce yourself.

Seriously, grab a rifle or two and some ammo and come and check it out!
Even if you don't shoot, come out and make a friend or two.
