Anyone have one of these? They look pretty sweet, especially with the factory threaded barrel although they seem a bit pricey for a bolt action .22.

I had one. It was probably the most accurate rimfire rifle I have ever owned. Well worth the money. They are built like real rifles. Smooth. Solid. Accurate. Makes just about every Marlin or Savage I have owned feel like a cheap toy.

Jensens in Loveland has a couple you could look at still. I liked it so much I bought two.

I own two 452 Varmints and they are both great shooters. I debated back and forth between these and Savage Mark II rifles and I am happy I chose the CZ's.

I saw Jensen's auction on Gunbroker. These look tempting, more so in light of the positive reviews. Anyone ever hang a can on one?

Machineguntours is holding my can hostage for a few more months, but one is on the way.

Very interested to hear your thoughts on it when your paperwork clears. No pun intended

My buddy runs a can on the end of his Savage Mark II and, when he runs subsonic through it, it's amazingly quiet. You can literally hear the firing pin striking the case and, half a second later, you can hear the bullet going through the target.

If you cannot or do not want to spend the money on a suppressor, you can always purchase a 452 Ultra Lux. This model has such as long barrel that the bullet begins to decelerate before it has left it. This makes for a very quiet shooter.

I have a 453 varmint with threaded barrel and can. Lots of fun with subsonic ammo, very accurate. Note the factory threaded one isn't threaded 1/2x28 but is threaded metric.

I hung a can on my ultra before CZ offered threaded bbls.An extremely accurate, quality rifle would be an understatement. The whole CZ line is very underrated.
Sold it in weaker money times, The only down side was cost of extra mags.
I own a TOZ-78 bolt and TOZ-99 semi russkie 22's i'd put them against the CZ's anytime.
In regards to the can questions, i also own a 77/22mag and 22lr. Shooting a bolt action rimfire suppressed is truly a work of art. ALMOST movie quiet if not more so.
Anyone up in the noco area would like to road test a few bolt action 22's suppressed touch bases with me.

Looks like the 452 Version has been discontinued, and has transitioned to the 455 which is available in .22LR, WMR, .17, or .22lr/.17 (which is the one that I would LOVE to see a review of)

Edit: Found a decent Video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4EiGCC2H4sM)

I have a CZ 455 22LR. Love that rifle. In steady wind conditions I can hit an 8" steel plate consistently at 300m.

It's with BP right now getting the barrel chopped and threaded for a future can. :)

This is NOT good... the more I research, the more I want one...

The CZ 455 might be easier to find, and I don't really recommend getting multiple barrels for it. I don't think it would be consistent changing the barrels. And it's an excuse for multiple rifles :)

The CZ 452 would be a better choice if you can find one.

My 455 will overlap holes at 25 yards, and at 100 yards I can achieve sub-MOA with match ammo. It's far more accurate than I am, and it's great training/practice.

I don't shoot at paper too much because it's so much fun to lace rounds out to crazy distances at steel. I'm getting offset rings this week so I can try reaching out to 400m.

Many folks seem to agree that the 452 & 453 .22LRs tend to be a little bit more accurate though I am sure the 455 can't be far behind.

There are still plenty of 452's available new. Bud's Gun Shop has the 452 Varmint Thumbhole stock for around $400.

I decided to go with a 25MOA base from DIP, Inc but the offset rings will work just as well.

I have had several folks laugh at me when I have told them that I like to shoot groups with my .22LR out to 300 yds. It's actually very doable with good ammo.

I have the same base, but it's not enough for 400m. :) At least with my scope. So I'm adding offset rings on top of it.

A lot of people underestimate the distance you can accurately shoot 22LR. It's easy to impress people in that regard.

It might be the use of subsonic vs. high velocity. Subsonics are far more accurate out to distances because crossing the speed of sound barrier twice tends to destabilize the bullet. Though I was recently shooting with friends and they were putting Win 555 bulk out to 300m with an old M69.

I have a CZ 452 mannlicher. It's one of my all time favorite .22's to shoot.

That is a real fine looking stock.

All this 22lr distance talk is making me wish there was a .22lr steel dog match tomorrow. The next one is on Saturday, June 30, 2012, out at WHAC in Brighton. Bring those pretty rifles out and ring some steel. [Beer]

Yeap & I will be bringing out my new 452 Varmint with a thumb hole stock. I just put a new scope on it and I haven't zeroed it yet. I guess I better do that before the 30th.

I have a CZ 452 American and it is one of the most accurate 22 LR guns I own. I like it because I can also screw on my Gemtech Outback II suppressor. Accurate and quiet.

I made a mistake when I was adding events to the calendar. The Rim Fire Steel Dogs match is actually going to take place on Saturday, June 16, 2012.

...And yes, bring those .22LR blasters over and shoot some steel with us!! [Beer]
