Got this put on the rear of my CBR 1KRR on Tuesday evening and crashed Wednesday morning....
Aside from some bumps and bruises, a raspberry on my thigh, and scrape on my ass I'm alright. It pays to wear full gear (Helment, gloves, jacket and pants). The frame sliders took almost all the damage besides the foot peg and shifter which were only scraped. Engine cover got .50 piece mark on it as well. New sliders will be my next post in here I'm sure haha.

I have ran race tires for awhile now and it got out from under me some damn fast I did not have any time to react. Looking at where it happened there is not even a mark from when the tire slipped out.

Tires were cold... I high sided losing the rear when it was warm and it left a nice 20 to 30ft drift mark... yep, I got the wind knocked out of me [ROFL1]
You bought race tires for street use?
Race DOT's. They're dual compounds.
The center is the hard compound and the sides are close to slicks depending weather you get soft, mediums, or hard.
I usually ran with soft front and hard rear tires.. on a 1000 cc bike that rear will go bye-bye quick...

That would be a better explanation. I run mediums on the side and they work really well in the summer and ok in the colder months. I usually burn one a season depending on how much riding I get in and how much I screw around on it.
I run a regular Dunlop Q2 on the front and run race take off's on the rear. They are not a full race tire as they are still DOT approved.
That's just asking for trouble. Run DOT approved street tires on the street. You won't see any gains on the street and WILL decrease adhesion as compared to street tires most all of the time since you can't get them to proper temps.

I should correct that as they are both DOT tires. Its fixed now.
Good thing you are all in one piece. Gotta love your gear as it has saved my rear more than once.

Every year I have ridden at least one person has gone down right in front of me. I've seen low sides, high sides, taking turns to fast, even someone loop it on a wheelie.
Just remember keep the shiney side up and wear your gear. I can't say it will happen but if does you can be prepared for it like I was.

Picked up the one rolling at the Humane Society 'bout a month ago. He's a Maine Coon, as well as the other watching, and he's three. Pretty cool cat. He came from the HS w/ the name of Bear Claw. We decided to change it and name him Chewbacca. Chewy for short. He eats toilet paper off the roll. Had a German Shepard that did that but never a cat.

I'm a fan of the Glock factory trigger, except for the pull weight. I put in a Ghost Rocket 3.5, and polished up every surface and it is very smooth and I shoot very well with it. To each his own.
