Anybody have a kimber tactical pro II in 9mm? What do you think of it? How do they run? Any quirks to be aware of?

Well, consider my 2 cents a free bump for your thread.

I was savagely burned on a Kimber TLE II a few years back. It didn't run even after a trip back to Yonkers. Not sure if it's just an east coast thing, but I came away thinking their customer service had a pretty crappy attitude. Sold it for a loss, bought a Springfield TRP and never looked back.

I know a few folks that really like their Kimbers, but I was pissed enough to swear I'd bad mouth them until the day I die.

As to the specific model, I'll have to leave that up to some other folks.

They seem very proud of themselves but it seems like alot of people have problems with their very expensive pistols

Something has definitely happened to Kimber quality control. Very uneven for the price point. I've had two acquaintances have unhappy experiences with out of the box Kimbers. However, I've not seen anything specific tto the Tac Pro II.

Kimber is a hit and miss company. I have a TLE RL that runs flawlessly. It eats everything, have approx 2-3000 thought it, maybe had 1 malfunction. A couple years back a buddy bought a desert warrior, nothing but problems. Sent it back several times, sold it for a loss. I love mine, But honestly I would buy a Wilson or Blackhawk, if I could afford it.

If only that were an option

Get an sti spartan Iv in 9 mm and be done. I've had a springer and a limber and neither touches the $600 sti spartan iv I have. Will probably never buy another brand of 1911. Everyone has an opinion though.

I've always have heard mixed reports about Kimber, as represented here. Of all there designs, the Tactical series seems to interest me the most.

In the end, I think just a little more money can get you into something with a much better following.

Check out the STI Trojan. It's the most accurate pistol I've ever shot. I haven't had to failure of any sort so far. Although, I only have around 1000 rounds max through it.
