Just out of curiosity what are you running? a 6.2 GM? I had the infamous 5.7 Olds diesel DX block in a very clean cutlass. I also ran 15/40 in it. I run 15/40 in my 350 gas truck also, just because its free.

Rotella is awesome. Only the 5W-40 is safe in wet clutch applications (some ATV's and motorcycles). I have ran 5W-40 in every bike I have owned and them seem to love it. Hell you can get the full synthetic 5W-40 for $22.99/gallon at Wally World.

I run Rotella 15-30 in winter, and 15-40 in summer. Only oil I use, and I drive a ford, so I appreciate oil, heh...

I've been running the 15-40 non synthetic in my wet clutch quads for years. Its what my engine builder recommended.

Interesting. I would be careful running it in a higher RPM engine though. I doubt a quad will ever reach the RPM's my bike will. Glad it works for you though because Rotella is awesome!

I use rotella in mine, my 2007 just turned 621,000 miles today and she still purrs like a kitten. I traded in my last truck with just over 750,000 on the clock and she was still running strong.

yep, we run with a 6 year lease with 750,000 miles and then turn them in and get a new one, all normal service, equipment failure's, road service, and permit's are included (24,000 mile oil changes, ifta, plates, etc.) we just pay for normal wear and tear items.

Just make sure when you change it you're wearing gloves ... used oil out of a diesel motor is carcinogenic (much more-so than oil from a gas engine).

What kind of lifters are in it? Modern oils aren't all friendly to flat lifters, though if it's a well-broken-in engine, it's not as critical.

Look for ZDDP on the web.

I run Rotella in my diesel tractor and it seems to be fine, though I haven't seen the internals of the engine, either.
