Apparently this wasn't a stupid question since the iexperts haven't chimed in after 15 minutes. Wish I could help answer that myself.

I did a lot of bow fishing as a kid, but we only had the regular small game and fishing license. Since we were bow fishing only for carp, I'm not sure we needed the license at all. ??

That brings up a question I had, but have been too lazy to look up. What species can you legally bow hunt in Colorado?

How the hell do you know where to aim?

Shoot low, water is tricky. :)

I really have no idea what is legal to fish for with a bow. I believe anything you normall can catch, but what do I know.

We use to get the Carp during spawning season out at Jackson or Barr lake. Use them for Bear bait, but that's illegal now. O'well.

Check with State Parks & Wildlife. Best to do it in person @ one of their offices.

I asked them a few years back and was highly discouraged by what I heard (very limited species (exactly which ones I don't recall), and many of the lases/streams are totally off-limits.

I think you need a fishing licence and a small game for this?? Since it's a bow and not a fishing rod.

No, just a fishing license but the species and allowed locations are limited.
