I guess this is step one. Next, the wait. Oh joy!
Anyway, real reason for the thread.
John, "TheInternet", was my go to guy for the class. He covered all the bases and taught a great class. An asset to the forum for sure. If any of you are looking at getting your CCW but nees the class, shoot John a PM. You'll be glad you did.

For as many post you had prior to "the incident" one would have thought you were already a ccw club member.
I Thought you were LEO? As long as you are you don't need to take any class. That also goes for folks that retired from LE or Military, with in 5-10 years of your seperation date you don't need to take any class for your CCW.

He is not, but he did sleep at a Holiday Inn so he should be good!

Enjoy your 90 day wait Doug Darr's staff are as slow as they get when it comes to ccw. I'm led to believe they dislike legal gun owners.

To be honest, the 4 hour long class everyone talks about is what was keeping me from doing it...
I donno if I could handle 4 hours of, "This is the barrel... This is the trigger... This is the safety..." I had to sit through a hunter safety class with my little brother... I wanted to cry after the first hour.
I am sorry, but I don't get the "Holiday Inn" thing.
Someone enlighten me please. thanks

For the sake of boosting my post count what is a non certified, commissioned Deputy and does that qualify you for the Federal Police Officer carry permit?

Means that while I'm at work in the jail I have all the powers of the certified people... But I haven't been through the POST Academy.
And no, it doesn't.

but after POST you are good correct?
Almost... Just because you're POST certified doesn't mean you can carry... You actually have to be employed by an Agency...
