The whole city of Denver shut down parts house called at noon and said they are going home. All my customers cancelled so I said the hell with it locked up the shop and came home.
The drive home was great seeing all the dumb a$$'s with two wheel drive vehicles stuck on the side of the road.
I have 18" in the back yard and it looks like a 2' plus drift on the AC. [ohno]
That is one of the few advantages to living in a Townhouse. NoSnow removal
I have a 4-5 foot drift in the back yard. Short of that, not a thing is sticking. Its all blowing by around 30mph.
Peterson AFB closed up around 11:00 today. Half day off for me. And I was supposed to fly tonight.
The dogs love the snow.

Snow...white...can't see past the back porch.
When I returned home at 1:00pm there was 3' drifts in the roads....overall snow depth is about 12". I got home just before they closed US highways 24 and 94.

Osprey, I love your signature.
Out throwing the basketball for the dog, since it's the only thing He can't lose at the moment. He fell over in a drift and disappeared. [roll]
The drive in and home was fun. There's nothing like watching an Idiot in their little red Mercedes hot rod unable to make it up the tiniest incline due to their high performance racing tires. You don't live on the race track, doofus, you live in C-O-L-O-R-A-D-O. [poke]
Saw another individual with a similar problem in their Porsche. If you only have the Porsche to drive on days like today, you over-extended yourself. You should have taken the money for the Porsche and bought yourself a summer car and a winter vehicle.
I had a very difficult time making it out of the business park. Even when you have a capable vehicle, the other folks manage to block the road. But hey, I just cranked the wheel of the Tahoe to the left and drove up and over the median between the trees and found another way out. [tank]
I can barely see out the windows. I'll let you know when I try to dig out in the morning.
The thing I didn't understand was the dipwads in Tahoes that didn't have them in 4 wheel, sitting there spinning as I drove past.

I'm seeing 2-3' drifts in this apt complex. A full size Chevy pickemup has a drift almost as high as the truck bed rail. A couple of cars are burried along the sidewalks or in front of the building. My '90 4Runner has a drift as high as the rear bumper and almost covering the tires. Saw the aftermath of a slight jack-knifed fed-ex truck on the corner, and a Ford Explorer that took out a street corner sign. Work tomorrow? uh... sure...

I got about 50ft up my side street towards Mississippi and grabbed my cell phone and told my boss 'No Way'
Fortunately, the guards already there are fully prepared to stick out the night (and probably part of the morning) and soak up the overtime pay.
I may have to go in tomorrow night to cover for another guard that got her car truly stuck in the snow, but that'll depend on roads n stuff.
I can't measure the crap outside. There's so many valleys and drifts.

2 feet everywhere, drifts to 4 feet, some about 3 feet in long stretches.
I live on a 1/2 mile long dirt road.
No chance, my neighbors and I all got together this morning and spent 4 hours digging it out, with 3 tractors. One jerkwad, who has a tractor didn't get out. I'm like WTF? He say "oh, not my turn"
I buried his driveway, CSer. I dug out other people without tractors.
Then, i got to drive to the church and dig that out. A good solid 30" all the way around. Good thing it has 6' sidewalks, fits the tractor nice. only bent one sign.
That took another 2 hours.
I've been on the tractor or shoveling for 7 straight hours.
Ugh, LOT OF SNOW.

Kind of funny, That marvel of modern science, the airport that will never close due to a weather related issue, is still closed. Yet, JeffCo, is open and have been landing planes for the last 2 hours.

We live on the eastern end of a culdesac which means we get the wind straight down the road until it hits our house and then it drops the snow. Driveway was measured at 30" on average, drifts were anywhere from 36" to 48". Man, that sucked clearing the driveway.
I am so sore. I need to buy a snow blower. I actually made it into the office for about an hour and a half this afternoon. They have to pay me for the day and I didn't burn my vacation day for Friday. I'm off until next Tuesday. [dancing]
A plow came down the street while I was gone and did me a favor...he closed in my driveway.
We had almost 3 feet of snow. It took me several hours to clear the driveway. It was interesting to see how the snow settled during the day and lost it's fluff.

4-5 inches overnight here, but most of it fell before I woke up around midnight.
I walked to the mailbox and back with no issues. I even brushed some of the snow off my car to keep it from piling up too bad. I'm hoping those winds (that should be arriving any minute now! honest!) keep it blown clean so I can have an easy commute Saturday.
Well. We'll just have to see about it. Latest forecast says this system could stick around (in waves, which should be good for the plow trucks) till Sunday morning.
Got around 8 to 10 inches but the wind is once again blowing it around and filling all the paths I had cleared. Right now I 70 is officially closed except for local access. Did some friends of ours over by the church, BS that the plows had been down that road, what a disaster, no freaking way without a 4wd. Good golly
Ok, so where's the next storm?

My neighbor across the street has a plow on his F350, so he backdragged our driveway which helped immensely. I had to go out to DIA earlier and the streets were just wet out there. It's definitely worse the closer it gets to the mountains.

10+ up on the hill in Castle Rock, very light, we go out a few times a day
to keep up with the snow fall. Hey all in the southern part of the state stay safe, I know Pueblo east and south of really don't have the equipment to handle large snow fall.

I had over a foot last night, the neighbor cleared my driveway again, then we got maybe another 6 inches over night. So 2 feet total, but I can get out once the snow plow comes by. Unless he buries me again. Karl.

OK, the neighbor just showed up for his "nightly driveway clearing". I was mistaken, there was about another foot out there. So now the driveway is clear, the roads are plowed and my car has undergone it's daily "start check". It passed for the first two days, but it failed tonight. The battery was a bit too weak tonight. It could be the 3 days of cold catching up to it, but I started and ran it yesterday for about 15-20 minutes. So I plugged it in to the little charger I have to keep it ready when I need it. So now I got a nice little tunnel developing in my front yard that will from this day forth be referred to as "The Moreland Tunnel" in honor of the man that made it, my neighbor. [roll] Karl.

Pickenup have you made it to a shoot yet?
Nope, haven't made it to one of the shoots yet.
Probably going to have to wait until springtime.
Have a HARD time walking through the snow.
But I AM going to make it one of these days. [wink]
Finally got the driveway plowed.
If we get any more snow, I don't know where I'm going to put it.
My plow won't push it any higher.

Welcome to Minnesota!
Minnesota? Crap! Now it won't melt until April.
I could do without snow for quite some time. I now have a reason to buy a snow blower. The old sports injuries just aren't cut out for all of this shoveling.

Man, I moved here from the Twin Cities to evade cold and snow...
Huh, and Grandma keeps calling from MN wanting to lend me the snow shovel... :P
I want to thank my neighbor for cleaning out my whole drive way. What a surprise it was to drive home to a plowed drive way. Thanks Mr. G.
May some one do the same to you and may you be the recipient of a kind deed! Maybe there is hope!

When I begin to feel inconvenienced by the three storms that hit the Denver area and now the cold, I think of the poor folks in SE Colorado. They got snow & wind to go with it and the drifts are serious stuff. Here's a slideshow I found:

I wasn't expecting the conditions I woke up to this morning. Somebody lied to me. [poke]

Yeah wtf? My Runner has at least 3" on it.
What dose your backyard look like? Be prepared for what's going to happen when the temperatures reach into the high 40's & 50's later this week? I hate Mud !!! But my dogs seem to love it! :P
I'm not much on the mud either but the 5,3,1 year olds at my house love it :P
The way the wind is blowing out here and drifting it up into mini mountains, even the snow blower is scared to go outside.
Must go out soon, no frozen pizza left [ohno]

The Snowman in the yard was asking about the schools in the area. He figures he's been in the area long enough that the whole family may just settle here.
Global Warming my eye!
At first this made me feel better but, now I think I'm going to be sick. http://www.vimeo.com/clip:104357/context/tag:snowman [roll] I'm afraid if we have a few more weeks of snow we're going to see a lot more people losing their minds. http://www.vimeo.com/clip:103441/context/tag:snowman [roll]
Hey Gman I think wallerys got an answer for the snowman in your front yard [postal] [roll]
I'm ashamed to admit that I was not aware of the danger that is snowmen. Listening to Sherman has inspired me to join him in his quest to rid the world of this danger.
OPEN YOUR EYES!
FIGHT THE SNOWMEN!
WE WILL NEVER SURRENDER!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!! !!!!
