I'm thinking about buying an Argentine 1911 from my buddy. The bluing is in about 70 percent condition but it functions great. From what I can tell, it was made in 1955. It has the Argentine Crest on engraved on it which means it was military issue. It's my buddies gun and I want to give him a fair price for it. Can anyone tell me an approximate value for it?
The serial number is 861xx. Thanks for any help.

I should have added that it doesn't have the original grips. It has the Hogue rubber grips.

Is it a 1911 or is it a Ballestra Molina?

Not a B Molina.

Hmmm, well I'm not an expert in the topic but that does not match my recollection of when Argentina was issuing Colts - which I thought was pre WWII - versus Ballestra Molina's which was into the '50's.

$400 for a ballester molina. Not bad pricing. With holster and all.
With that level of finish, $400 is about right.
