I wrote Shot Works Pro (http://shotworkspro.com) in my spare time as a way to give back a bit to the shooting community.
The Windows based software is an inventory tracking system for shooters to track their firearms, ammo, accessories, and even target results. Each item lets you attach photos, documents, pdf manuals, or any other file type. You can either do a normal installation like most Windows software, or a standalone version you can keep on a memory stick.
All data is highly encrypted and password protected.
A sample screen (click to embiggen):

A lot of comparable software forces you to enter values a specific way, such as actual dollar amounts for something like "Purchase Price:". With Shot Works, you can enter a dollar amount, leave it blank, or even put in "3 chickens and a date with my ugly sister" if you'd like and it won't complain.
I definitely love to get feedback and suggestions. I can't work in everything but I always see what I can do. And I generally like to give out free copies when I release a new version, or if I get bored. The normal price is 20 bucks though which hopefully won't break the bank.

New version was just released today. This version has several bug fixes but most importantly a completely new way it does reports. Current users just install the latest greatest. Hopefully we'll get lots of new users.
To kick that off, the first three folks to respond with a picture of their favorite holster gets free license keys. Just post the pic here and then send me a PM with your name and email address, and I'll send out keys.

Updates are easy! If you downloaded the normal install before, just download the new normal install and run it. It will automagically update your current version. The standalone install is for folks who installed on a USB disk or wanted to put things somewhere else on your computer than normal, and that's just as simple, unzip the new .EXE file over the old one.

Gonna make it work for macs?

Hopefully, I'm working to make it work under Mono, which would then work for Macs. As for a complete rewrite in native Mac code, probably not, unless I get a boatload of spare time!

Thank you for the serial. This program is amazing. Way nicer than trying to keep paper records or making excel spreadsheets. I will definitely show this to other gun aficionados.

Hey give it a try. The demo works just fine, you can download it on the website.
I'll be doing a new karma offering soon.
I will say it again. This is an excellent program. Thanks so much for this Chad

Haven't had much chance to work with this in a couple months, too busy doing other things. The website is up for renewal in a couple weeks, but since I haven't actively been pimping it out for sales, I haven't sold enough copies to really make it worth my while to keep working with when I don't have time for it.Couple options. Any .Net developer wanting to buy the whole thing from me, send me an offer. If I don't get anyone interested in taking this over from me, I'll let the website lapse into oblivion, and most likely just offer copies for free but with no support.I know I've gotten many sales to folks on here and I appreciate it, and hope that you've gotten really good value out of it.

[Muaha] And this is how I will take over the world... PM SENT!!!
Wow this is such an awesome program, I would hate to see it go away.
PM incoming

Oh never my intention to let it go away. That's why I hate that its been ignored. I figure someone who really wants to take the time to get it sold actively and maintain it would be better. And if I found no interest, I simply would have made it free for everyone but I wouldn't be able to support it anymore. Luckily.. I think that I have someone very interested!
Its a great program man I love using it.

WOoo hoo! And thanks! Real quick, I put out the new version just a couple days ago that uses the new way to load the license key. Did you have any problem with loading the license key? Were the new instructions good?

No problems whatsoever, Chad. Thank you.
BTW...I checked Amazon.com and it appears "Red Dwarf X" was just released on DVD in the US last week. YAY!

Freebie time! Gonna give away 2 copies. Next two folks to post a pic of them shooting with their kid(s) I'll send a license key to. Just post your pics here, then PM me your email address that I can send a key to.
Also I'm working on adding reloading components tracking to Shot Works. Hopefully will have it done soon...

I know some folks have asked for reloading components tracking for Shot Works for some time. If you'd like to try it out, here's a link to the current beta that I've added it to. Feedback is greatly appreciated.
Full install:

I'm trying a new thing on the website to generate some traffic. It's called "Pay with a Tweet" but works with Facebook also.
Basically, if you want a free license for Shot Works, head over to the website at http://shotworkspro.com.
On the right side is the button to get the free license.
Follow the instructions, and post to either your FB or Twitter accounts, and I'll send a free license to you.
It's that simple. I know how "socially connected" everyone here is :D so this should be a great way to spread the word.
Thanks for trying my software.
It is some great software for personal use, I have used mine for a few years now and have no complaints!
Question though, have you though about making a commercial version for FFL's to replicate the a&d book? Also do you think you will bring out a Mac version?

I've had one or two people ask about the FFL version, but there's a lot of competition from established players who have help desk teams, etc, that I couldn't replicate.
As for a Mac version, I've thought about it, but it would be a complete rewrite which unfortunately I have never developed for a Mac, so there'd be a huge learning curve. I've also had a few requests for iphone and android versions, same issue.
I'll give it a go... I should probably use something other than a worn out pad to keep track of things

Hey crazy I just happened to log in and this was the top post. Yeah I have it running on Windows 11. You'll need to install the older copy of dotnet, but it walks you through that.
Best thing is, download it and give it a try. It lets you store a few items without registration so you can see it in action.

FYI, your link to "Microsoft .Net 2.0 SP2 Framework" is broken. It might need to be https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=9834
