Been thinking about doing a ak/ar pistol for a while and I'm finding that i have an itch for a Krink/draco 7.62x39 pistol..... never fired one before or owned one previously.... good idea? I know that everyone has a different opinion on these so I'm not expecting to find "The best ak pistol" just want to hear what people liked, didn't like, which ones were dependable, which weren't etc...

all opinions/experiences/snide remarks welcome!

My draco was nice as a pistol, decent COM shots @ 50yds. Did it to a rifle config and like it much better. 12" bbl with 5" f/hider side folding stock, great AK15 / AR47 carbine in the xm177 tradition.
One day when some extra funds are in hand i'll probably sbr it.

Here's my "Lil B*tch"
http://i418.photobucket.com/albums/pp261/brutaltlr/IMAG0275.jpg

in 5.45x39. I've stretched it out to 200 yards and actually hit steel and inside of that it'll hit anything without breaking a sweat... well, the aimpoint does help :D

Gotta clean it really well (the gas system) or it will fail to cycle completely at times. Or it could just be the fake suppressor I have on it. I think the muzzle booster would help fix that problem, but I couldn't tell you till I get my Tax stamp by August.

To Krink or not to Krink?
It's all on your budget is all I would say... For me no regrets. I love my Lil B*tch, lol!

When I get another AK or build one.. this is what I may think of using to mount optics on.

that tws rail looks pretty cool and ive heard alot of good things about it.

i think it's worth putting a red dot on a draco just not so much a 4 power psl scope haha

Yea psl scopes are funky on a regular ak unless you have the ak bottom on it.
I lucked out with my side rail and dont have to get the ak bottom, although now in hindsight Iprobably wont be able to run a regular ak scope unless I change it to a psl bottom :(

Eventualy I plan on using a picatiny mount for a red dot.

Kalinka has a really solid mount meant for the Aimpoint Red Dots: http://kalinkaoptics.com/mounts/ak-vepr-saiga-romak-1-2-slr/pk-01v-aimpoint-to-ak-saiga-vepr-centered-side-mount-w-heavy-duty-30-mm-ring-special-limited-edition-v-3-3.html

It centers nicely on my Romy's and AMD-65. The Aimpoints are out of my league - I could do another AK for the price but Primary Arms has a clone that is more affordable. Here it is on my AMD-65. http://i1119.photobucket.com/albums/k629/OldGeezerStuff/AK%20Kits/AMD-65/k_amd65_14s.jpg

I don't like idea of a long scope on an AK. I use the PSL scopes on my PSL's but I have extra length buttstocks.

RSA makes a nice mount that does have some sideways adjustment. The Kalinka has none. The RSA seems rather lightweight.

That ia a nice setup Steve.
I'm the same way-for that kind of money I can build another gun.
I'm not too crazy about long scopes on ak's either.Just jappened to have a psl scope kicking around.Personaly I realy wouldnt use an ak for distance anyway. So I probably will hunt down a scope like the one you have.

What kind of siderail is that Steve? Looks like it's shorter than the one I installed.Or did you relocate the rear sling swivel?

I was thinking of running a Trijicon RMR on a forward pic rail. Better field of view. I have an EBR that is my go-to-gun, this would be a back up. i'm not looking to engage targets at 200 with the krink.

Nice concept, however i could save $40 + s&h by doing another tax stamp. Wait time looks a little shorter on the stock than stamp.

I built the Yugo Krink Pistol 7.62x39, I would recomend. 500-1000 rounds never jammed. Came with blond furniture, stainless barrel, night sights. A little heavier than you might think and the comp works well, you can really tell cheap ammo by the inconsistent muzzle flash. It would be better with a stock.
