I just don't understand how this stuff happens... When I hand a firearm to someone who wishes to look/handle it, I personally unload it, make sure they go through the motions as well as a secondary precaution and never give them the magazine. I've even gotten into a habit of doing it if I'm looking at a firearm at a store (with some funny looks from the clerk, HAHAH).

The Four Rules should be ingrained into everyone such as the Golden Rule or the 10 Commandments regardless of personal beliefs, etc...

The most dangerous firearm is an "unloaded" firearm.

"Hey look, a gun! I wonder if there is anything in the barrel, let me look...."

"So what you do is hold it like this, see George? Then you point it at... stand right there... and then you, naw, don't worry man, it's unloaded...."

I do the exact same thing, but remember, not everyone is educated in safe, proper firearms handling. Guns don't have to be dangerous, but stupid is always a major hazard.
