Usually, firearms on a school campus are a no-no. Concealed or not.

INAL But if I remember right, if they have permanent metal detectors and people checking for weapons, you can't.

they just lost that battle in court, last year. I believe in Colorado, you can carry concealed on a state funded school.

Actually CU appealed, and just lost a couple months ago.

I am connected to the University and I am not sure it has been "officially" changed to allow carry on campus, meaning they haven't changed the written CU policy yet. My understanding though is that yes you can carry on campus because the state constitution overrules the CU policies, but that is just my understanding and I am no lawyer or have read the laws.

I do know they are trying to restrict guns in dorms and at Folsom Field and Coors Event Center, but that has not been passed or anything and has just been talked about by a few of the Regents.

It has been awhile, but I don't remember any metal detectors. I know someone on the board goes thete though. Jack something with death as his avatar I think.

Also, I think your only risk is getting expelled from school.

They do not have metal detectors at all, and for graduation events they hardly check anyone its more of just walk in and the mandatory Argus event staff is standing there to look like everything is under control.

For sports events and such they usually only check girls bags and occasionally pat down guys if it looks like you are sneaking alcohol into the event.

Do, I have to pay for parking or is there a free lot?

Anybody with experience with this place?

Thanks

As far as parking it is free for graduation. Just park in the big parking structure right next to Coors Event Center or the large open lot next to it. closest parking to the building you are going to.

here is the story about it: http://www.dailycamera.com/cu-news/ci_20104581

Said it would take at least two weeks from when this article was written for guns to be allowed on campus.

Looks like you're ok to carry, just don't try to smuggle a bottle of water in...

It's totally legal for you to carry at CU, so long as you have your CCW. I graduated from there in 2009 and there were no metal detectors to speak of whatsoever. Just use general common sense, especially in such a place as that, and don't go around brandishing your weapon and you'll be fine. Funny thing, Boulder Police are pretty conservative...the town, well you know, not so much.

They won't notice if you are conceal carrying. There are no metal detectors and probably no cops. Plus as others have said, it is no longer illegal to carry on campus. Your gtg as I carried all of last semester and my buddy who is CU PD said the police have no problems with it. It is all the regents and the socialist Boulderites who are trying to scare us gun owners.

So it appears that the Republicans are having their State assembly in a gun free zone. When will they learn?

Call: http://cologop.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/2018_Official-Call-State-Assembly.pdf

Event cener policy: http://cubuffs.com/sports/2003/8/16/events-center-policies.aspx

Idiots.

On edit: Ok, that's the general public admission policy (game day, for example). I wonder what the Assembly policy is going to be? Time to contact the party.
