Cant figure out problem with bolt on a m-4, stock bolt. Switched out with anther bcg, gun worked great. With original, wont cycle back or extract after first shot , leaves empty shell in chamber Cycle charging handle to extract and eject spent shell. load another same thing. completely disassembled twice, couldnt find anthing wrong

Problem with gun = See BP Tactical
Only one bolt works, or neither bolt worked?
Sounds like a gas system issue if neither bolt work, and the bolt doesn't cycle back at all.

I think he meant when he replaced the bolt, the rifle worked fine and it was with the first (original) bolt that he was having issues with.
If that is correct, then there is a gas issue with your first bolt. Is the key properly staked or have damage?

Gas rings maybe?
How old is the bolt?
Switched the bolt only or the entire BCG?

Use a large enough bolt and that won't be a problem...(insert devilish muhaha smile here)
If its not cycling I would say massive gas leak also.....did you just swap bolts??? Or bcg??

New rifle and bolt, rifle functioned properly with different bolt.

You can troubleshoot it by just changing the bolt, then changing the BC with the original bolt.
Or just take it to BP...

switched bcg, so have it narrowed down to that

It likely the gas key, improperly staked, or obstructed in some way.
BP is still your man, fix it once and be done with it...

Loose/leaky gas key (unstaked? No RTV?), or maybe an issue with gas rings (worn out? missing? There should be 3. Damaged? Aligned usually doesn't matter)

Rtv?

Sorry, not RTV - there's a high temp gasket sealer that's showing up in specs. I think it's most commonly a Permatex product. Not the first thing I'd look for - I'd guess most carriers don't have it.
