Another newbie

Hello all,

I just descovered this site and snooped around a bit, how is it I've lived here for years and never heard of you?

I am pretty excited to see you folks are so kid friendly and that you have a couple non-membership places to go for some informal shooting that are semi-close by. Other than a little hunting and sighting in which I take very seriously, that's all I'm into is informal shooting, and usually with my kids 12 & 9. We have most of the bases covered, and my son and I are aching to try the 1944 Garand we just received from the CMP.

What's amazing to me is how few places there are to go shooting here that are close by to Denver. I usually drive to the Pawnee Grasslands and enjoy it, but it sure is a drive. I'm excited to check out your North Site sometime. Maybe someone can fill me in on what a typical get together is like and am I able to head up there at any time?

I'm actually excited I found this group. A safe outdoor place to shoot close by, this isn't a cruel joke is it?

Well, once a month, {weather cooperating that is.} We get together and go shooting. This month sounds like it's not going to work but, next months the shoot is up north west of Lyons. That is if there isn't 15' of snow up there.

For the most part its just an informal gathering We shoot, We BS, We shoot some more. Great chance to meet other local shooter and have some fun once a month.
