I'm running through my list of 'cool sh...stuff to buy immediately upon return' and I've decided to purchase a AR-10 style/platform. And.... I'm stuck a bit.

I still have these basic uses in mind:

1. he-man class of tactical rifle
2. hunting animals
2. recreational longer range paper slaying/steel ringing

notice that it's number two and number two (not an accident).

keeping that stuff in mind, does anyone have THE recommendation?

(mods please move if there is a better location)

2. Prairie dogs don't fear it, because they never see it from 300 yrds
2. Guaranteed 1 MOA or less from the factory

"Out of the Box" accuracy @ 100 yrds. First 10 round group after bore sighting, before final scope adjustment:

I ordered yesterday and should be here around the time I fly back.

It will be here on Wed. Kept my Troy sights and Bobro bipod that I had on the MWS. Am going to have to settle for my TA11E ACOG until I can save up some moolah for some nice glass. I am looking forward to sending a few down range this weekend!

Get an AR10, and rebarrel it to a 300 WSM, or buy one already made. [Beer]

you've got two, I've got none (yet)..... you have to give me half....[Coffee]

I'd love to get a little bit of time. How far have you stretched it out? I started to get into it a bit, so I bought that Magpul precision rifle DVD... one mile on an OBR... I wanted one. I don't expect to shoot it out to a mile, but being better at mid-distances would be helpful...
