Need some help on the price check of this Argentine Colt 1911 (http://www.armslist.com/posts/414047/denver-colorado-handguns-for-sale--colt-1911)

I can not find an exact price on any for sale anywhere to compare,
I can not see the pistol being $1200. Honestly I feel it is around a $700-$900.

Anyone help with proving me worng etc?

If it is on armslist then the price must be correct :)

Smart a** ;) doesnt help though.

The reply I got after emailing the seller, was all about it being a Colt so it must be made of gold etc.
Thats when I started to seriously question the price of it.

My buddy just gave me a great deal on one. $350 for the gun and 3 mags.

I obviously don't the true value but it seems to be rather inflated.

Haven't seen a $500 AR lower on Armslist yet:) all depends on the SN and what model of that 1911,the grips are not org. Maybe the 1,000rds is Hornady Critical Defense:)

Argentine 1911's I would put at $400-$550 depending on condition. I would not go any higher than that personally. They tend to have had rough lives.

I sold one for $800, it was all matching great shape. Made on Colt machinery. But there are alot of rough ones.

Scout sound like you had one of the rare ones. I have just seen mostly rough ones through the years.

Yeah exactly. That and it seems no one there knew how to maintain a weapon. Stressed frames the works.

That gun has had a lot of work done to it. There is no way it's worth $1200. Especially without knowing who installed the parts that have been swapped out.

$500 gun....tops.

Some of the Argentine guns can be pricey depending on the markings and originality. That one ain't anything special.

For $1200 you'd be better off buying a real Colt.
