7th Annual Shotgun Fun Shoot
It's that time of year again folks, It's time to pick a date for the 2012 CO-AR-15 Shooters Club 7th Annual Shot Gunners Fun Shoot! The event will be held at Colorado Clays Shooting Range http://www.coloradoclays.com/index.php (http://www.coloradoclays.com/index.php) and they’re open to the public and memberships are not required. CO. AR-15 Club Members, Family & Friends are all welcome to join us in a fun filled day of Sporting Clay Shooting. Don’t worry beginners and first time shooters will be mixed in with more experienced Shooters. Non- Shooter, Spectators, and Score keepers are also welcome to come along. Gun Club and Range Safety Rules Apply and will be posted at a later date. A variety of Clay Target Shooting are available Trap, Skeet & Sporting Clays. We prefer to shoot the Sporting Clay Course, (similar to golf where each group moves between stations 1 thru 15 and shooting at a total of 100 clay targets) Scores are kept on a score sheet but, they are meaningless because we’re just shooting for fun. We’ll Shoot 2 (two) rounds of sporting clays with a lunch break in the middle. BYO food and drink. You may choose to shoot only one round or stay for both. The first round starts about 9:30 am – 10:00 am with Lunch around Noon and the last round starts about 1:00 pm and is described as the (Evil Black Shotgun Round) but if you don’t have one don’t worry about it just shoot whatever you got it’s okay. We'll probably plan it in June on a Saturday from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm or so. Please let us know if you would like to attend and how many. I’ll check with Colorado Clays and see what their event Calendar looks like so I can post a couple of dates we can choose from. Majority rules on which day it will be held.

Just like any get together I am sure that there are plenty of people that will loan you a gun. I loaned one of my guns out last weekend to a brit that came to Falfest. ;) I will shoot even though I am horrible with a shotgun. The wife may come as well.

I'll sure try to make it. We're way behind on yard work and gardening, and we spent this weekend with the kids and grandkids at the Whittington Center, so we're even farther behind.

June 30 would work for us. We have a family reunion on the 16th in Northglenn.

I have extra shotguns. Nothing fancy, but they'll work.

This sounds like alot of fun. I just shot sporting clays for the first time over the weekend in Reno for my buddy's bachelor party. I didn't do very well but I wanna get into it more because it was a blast.

Are there other activities for non shooters to come and just hang out without participating?

You can just watch if you want or help by pushing the button that launches the clay birds or help by keeping score for a group. You can take a practice shot or two with someones gun just for fun. They give us a few free clay targets so it won't cost you anything. Also they have a clubhouse with a covered patio you can enjoy and if you have little ones there's a platground. They also have a BBQ we can use if your so inclined to be the team cook! What you say? lol[Clays]

Sorry Wallary! I got lazy and hadn't posted this yet. Been waiting a bit to see if my eyeballs work after my surgery. I'll do what I can to make any of the above dates, I have a new to me Benelli to test.

I can bring the portable propane grill and burn burgers and dogs if majority wants. I might even provide the food items!

Hey Kelly, I hope you can see good enough to shoot by the time we shoot. It's looking like the 30th of June so far. I'm looking forward to seeing you guys again. I'll let you know about grilling when we get a little closer to the Shoot. Take Care, [Clays]

You can bring you own Beer, but there's absolutely no alcohol allowed on the course sorry. After we’re all done shooting and the Guns are safely put away go for it! Enjoying a cold alcoholic beverage on the patio is permitted and even the Owner of Colorado Clays will probably be doing the same. [Beer]

It's all good, wide open, full blast, whatever you got it don't matter as long as your having fun and being safe, who cares. [Clays]

Shooting seems to be good therapy for my eyes. Focusing on sights and targets does seem to help. [UZI]

Stay off the roads until I get there or get there before I do![Help]

I'm going so I can test my new used benelli nova - you're welcome to shoot it.

I'll bring the big truck, the small weber propane grill, some hot dogs, burgers and buns etc. Any other suggestions are welcome for food items.

I'm excited for this. Have shot clays in a long time.

I'll bring a cooler full of water and pop. Can also bring meat if someone else can bring a grill.

Going to try to get my girlfriend but she will likely have to work and some other friends.

So what does everyone want for FOOD? I'm bringing the weber grill and will provide:

Burgers?
Dogs?
Chips?
Probably some soda (coke, pepsi, diet)

Let me know what sounds good so I can get it purchased sometime soon.

Hey Shooters! Blow the dust off your shotguns and stock up on shells the fun shoot is this Saturday. They open the gate about 9:00am and I'll be there early to give anybody that might need it, some help or something. The first group can start around 9:30 and I'll probably wait until 10:00 or so for the last group. If you're running late you can call the clubhouse Phone – 303-659-7117 and I'll wait for you. You can always catch up to the groups and shoot the stations you missed on the way back to the clubhouse before lunch. Please read the check list before coming out.
