View Full Version : ACT Trigger
Sounds like a viable option for those of us that don't feel like dropping another 200 on a trigger job. Does anyone here have any experience with this product or could see a potential downside?

Summary:The ALG Defense ALG Combat Trigger (ACT) is designed for those shooters where tradition, value and regulatory concerns are of primary importance. The pull of the ACT is very similar to a standard mil-spec trigger, however it is sharper and the grittiness of the stock trigger pull has been removed while the traditional reliability of a stock trigger remains. The pull weight is not lower than the M4/M16 minimum weight specification of 5.5lbs.

I just got one. Tried it out a week ago. Overall I like it, but it's nothing compared to my Geiselle SSA-E in terms of trigger weight, but it's not supposed to be either.
I'd recommend it over a standard trigger, it does have a nice break with no over travel. There is a small amount of take up before the break.
Overall, I'm impressed for an inexpensive trigger.

Would you say it is comparable to say a Timney trigger?

I just got one too. As MrFish says, it's a damn nice trigger. Very smooth and definitely worth the money. I can't think of a better trigger for $50. If you're doing a build and you want a B+ trigger (as compared to the A+ you get for $200), this is your best option
The ACT looks nice. Anyone have experience with Nickel-Boron coating an existing set? WMD in FL has a service for about 35$. I expect it would be like the Spikes Tactical coated trigger.

I would like to learn more about this
I too am in the market for a descent budget trigger so I would like to learn more about the different options
Sorry to repeat a post, but I don't know how to link to it yet. G&R Tactical has a LPK with LMT parts and a Geissele G2S trigger for $171. I think the G2S is the OEM version of the SSA.
