I've had my eye on a motorcycle for a while (Craigslist), and have been hemming and hawing about whether or not to get it. Finally pulled the trigger and contacted the seller, and just missed it! It looked like a great specimen of a hard-to-find model that I owned before and miss, and I blew it. Sometimes it sucks to be a moron.

Maybe you're like me. I hem and haw until the thing sells so I don't have to go buy it. [Coffee]

It's better than impulsively buying something and regretting it.

Yeah, I think that's what I was doing, right up until the end...

The V-Max has always intrigued me too. If I found the right deal, I might...

What are you after?

'93 Yamaha TDM 850. I had one in the '90's, and it's a really cool bike. Predecessor to the Super Tenere, and an Adventure Tourer before they were cool. This is the one I was after: http://denver.craigslist.org/mcy/3028096102.html

Yeah, I'll keep looking. Wifey says it's just fate, and that I don't need it...
Now about those drinks - already had too many to drive, so we can reschedule for a time when you have your wallet![Beer]

I've owned a 850 tdm back in 94-95. It was a great commuter bike with a lot of low end torque.

Everything happens fr a reason, so it must not have meant to be. Just means you will probably find a better one.

Yep. This is what I think when I fail to respond to a CL add soon enough. Usually looking at the TP here instead....[Tooth]

I have been looking for one too. [Beer] I decided to wait until next year to get one now.

The TDM, aka Tedium and totally true.

But, the best you know is the best you have ridden.

It was a fun, all-around bike. Not claiming its the best I've ridden (I've owned dozens of bikes from all genres), but it filled a niche that's tough to replace.

I've been doing the same thing OP.

Been hankering after a DRZ400SM and I just wait out each bike until it's sold.

I went to look at a 1976 CB750, fully restored in FoCo once with my roommate. I was interested in it, but at $2300 it was a little high on my budget. Figured if it was really sweet, I'd be able to afford the little bit extra. My roommate was also looking for a CB750. I fell in love with the bike, absolutely beautiful as if it had come off the showroom floor. I called the guy on Monday after I transferred the money, to purchase it and I found out my freaking roommate bought it out from under me the day before!!

I was livid!!! He never treated it well at all, had it beaten up and knocked over on campus (had enemies), then decided to rip it down to the frame, paint everything black and turn it into a cafe racer. Granted, it does look good now its just hard to remember what it used to look like. :(

Haha, yea it pissed me off a TON! Oh well, probably why we aren't roommates or even friends anymore. Our friendship kinda went downhill after that lol

I was a hour and a half late on buying Blaster Bobs mortar. That one might hurt for a while.
