So, do you believe in zombies or that they are possible? I'm not talking about the typical Obama supporter or OWS hippie commie douche. I mean truly undead zombies.

NO the undead not coming back to life, physical virus causing mental psychosis/severe hallucinations creating a raging monster YES.

Ever watch the movie "28 days later", a virus causing humans to become "RAGERS" similar to the barbaric actions and desires of the science fiction "Zombie." While "28 days later" was just a movie, think about the reality of what is possible with genetic alteration, virus's and the so called drug "Bath salts." Evidence is there that is it completely feasible and the proof of it is in the man in Florida and what he became capable of.

Imagine a biological weapon turning your enemy into monsters, destroying themselves and you sweep up after. I think there was actually a biological weapon experimented with in WWII and Vietnam era? It is scarier to think that this actually could be a possibility.


Real undead Zombies, NO, something that makes humans act like a fictional Zombie YES. I voted for YES but you didn't have an option for my version..........which is actually viable. :D

I've seen some crazy psychosis cases in the hospital with no identifiable cause (likely viral meningitis or something related) it I've seen it cause people to bite themselves and act plum crazy. But that's about as zombie like as I believe exists, not undead or anything.

I work in human services, mainly dually diagnosed developmental disabilities and mental health diagnosis. I have seen a lot of crazy shite, can't go into details due to confidentiality.

A drug or engineered virus to tap those hidden savage functions, YES.

I think zombies exist in the idea, but not the folk lore of them.

Same thing with vampires. People have drunk the blood of other humans but they don't grow fangs and aren't allergic to garlic.

As we've seen last week with the man eating the face of another man..... Probably the closest thing your gonna get to a zombie. But again it doesn't fit the hollywood or "folk lore" of a zombie..

We, of course, all know of the effects of "bath salts" from the 24 hour news stream (crazed behavior, face biting etc.).

Apparently there is a fairly new drug sweeping Russia in the last few years called Krokodil. According to news articles it is "desomorphine" which is a synthetic opiate that is considerably more powerful than heroin. On the surface this sounds unrelated until you find out that this drug is not only higly addictive but also has necrotizing side effects. Thats right, peoples flesh literally rots off their bones (if you google it for images be prepared, its VERY disturbing).

Now if a habitual krokodil user were to then take bath salts you would have an individual who has skin and flesh rotting/falling off their body and is now in a crazed state trying to bite peoples faces off...

It's possible that science could do something to make zombie-ish creatures at some point, to deny that would be crazy in my mind. Destroying the complex higher functioning parts of the brain while leaving autonomic functions intact doesn't even seem like it would be too hard seeing as what we can currently do. Genetic manipulation would probably be the way to go about it. Instilling a bloodlust might be the tricky part. But I don't think it will ever happen.
