Mandate all Veterans get in-state tuition at public or private colleges and universities, regardless of actual residency. In Colorado this already happens, but it is not the case nationwide.

Why wouldnt a Vet go to school in state to begin with?

Majority of guys I knew who got out either went home, place of residency or
made their final duty station they place of residency already and usually had the correct time in
that city/state to qualify for in state tuition.

I guess I am playing devils advocate.

Im a vet and kept my residency in Colorado for my time in and took some classes on
the G.I. bill, stopped cuz I was working nights and taking care of my daughter at the time,
and had in state tuition.

I moved here to go to school from out of state because I could get more transfer credits from my associates degree than any other school that was around me. Luckily in Colorado the time requirement is waived for vets to get in state tuition. While this mandate wouldn't help me personally, I think that it is a good thing for other vets that might be in the same circumstance that I was.
