Brownells has an excellent series of videos on how to build an AR. (http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/lid=11004/learn/)

Nice videos! I have been wanting to build my own AR. This has me really excited. I'm going to start looking for parts.

I'm a total noob here, so please forgive me if this is a re-post.

I found another set of videos on AR assembly that seem to augment the Brownell videos that have been stickied. These ones are in HD, which is also a boon.

The first of the series is here:

I especially like how the author of these videos substitutes items I am likely to have around my shop for the custom armouror tools. e.g.: He uses a dulled razor blade and a drill bit with a custom flatted grind to install the detent spring and retaining pin for the front pivot pin.

These really helped me gain a more thorough understanding of my rifle.

Cheers,

~Omni~

I wasn't sure if it was worthy of sticky, so I'll wait and defer to the moderator(s) to make that decision.

I would have to add the ITS Tactical videos as they helped me build my first AR.

I have to agree. this is a nice thread. I like the way Brownell breaks things apart into segments. Thanks for posting this
