Is this shoot going to happen? How many feet of snow are on the ground at the North shoot location?
I was there last Saturday...when it was snowing....AGAIN
Certain parts are almost (but not quite) bare
Others have a good bit of snow, but have been packed down and iced up from foot traffic
If you go somwhere that nobody has walked you may post-hole to your knees
I'm heavy enough to "post hole" where people have walked before me.

I was there on Sunday 1/28. The snow was deep in spots, but there were nearly-dry areas, including a good path up to the berm for setting targets. Plus, it is supposed to be in the 40s up there all week, which means more snow melt. However, it is supposed to snow on Saturday.
If the snow holds off I'll be up there.

Saturday was kinda cold....with gale force winds
I didn't stay long...I got "winded" chasing my target

$20 cash, to me, and you can shoot all you want [pirate]
J/K.. seriously, NO CHARGE, FREE, $0.00 (although, I think in the summer time a donation of a cheezybrat or three would be accepted)
check out the safety thread where you found this one.

I haven't gotten a dime from anyone for anything.
maybe thats why! [pirate]
I hope you didn't send me anything!
If anyone should get anything, it's Roger.
It's his site, and he needs the money to keep this place going.

i'll bring a wad of 20's handing them out to everyone...just don't look at the serial numbers, or number, cuz they'll all be the same. ha ha kidding. what about the actual membership fee for the IDPA? is that all mailed in with the application?
read the safety link too...you guys have odd rules, no finger on the trigger...again kidding, hopefully my dry sense of humor doesn't get me in trouble.
IDPA ?
we're only affiliated with the CMP (unless something has changed) [poke]

We have no affiliation with IDPA, however we have several members that are also IDPA members. Those same said members run our forum that is related to that and they can help you with any questions regarding IDPA/IPSC type shoots. TomFreeman seems to be the main person here on that issue and he is also USAF, out at Peterson I believe. Welcome, hope you can make our shoots also. Karl.

Welcome to the gaggle. Since I shoot IDPA and just came into posession of a new XCR, I'm in the same quandry. The IDPA shoots are at the CCCSC range off I-70 around exit 235 in Dumont the 2nd Saturday of every month (weather permitting). There's also an IDPA shoot out of Pueble on the 3rd Saturday of every month (weather permitting). The rifle shoots are also the 2nd Saturday of every month (weather permitting) and alternate between a north location out of Lyons on the back road to Estes Park and a south location out of Woodland Park if memory serves. I'm hoping to make my first rifle shoot this Saturday (weather permitting), but I also haven't made one of the IDPA shoots since last summer (weather and travel weren't permitting).

Our club shoots are informal shoots we all just get together and shoot for fun. You can bring any gun you wish to a club shoot there is no rules as to what you can bring, except NO illegal weapons. If your interested in IDPA if you go two boards down from this one that is where they post all IDPA events and 3 gun ect.
A lot of the people don't come to club shoots if they interfere with a match. You just have to decide which you wish to attend a club shoot or a match.

The shoots that we have (2nd. saturday of each month alternating between north and south locations) have NOTHING to do with anyone but us. No IDPA/IPSC/USPSA/NRA etc. They are semi-formal shoots. We have rules, but mostly just safety related. There is no "course of fire". It's just a bunch of people getting together for fun shooting. Rifles, pistols, shotguns, mg's, etc.
You can bring almost anything really. We only limit the ammo slightly due to the forest service regs. (and common sense). No Tracer, incendiary, flamethrower, dragon's breath, etc.
TomFreeman is a regular at the IDPA shoots and he moderates the forum here that is related to IDPA/IPSC shoots. He is a good point of contact as far as this board goes. As for any other website, talk to whom ever they tell you to. I know ZakSmith, bluker1, and a few others also shoot 3 gun and the like so they can help you also. Karl.

Guys,
The weather is cold enough just outside my front door.
If you think I'm going to go up 3000 feet in elevation & stand around in the snow all day, well.....
Anyways, I'll see you all next time maybe.

I checked the weather report and they say snow in the mountains tonight and tomarrow. It is supposed to be nice in Denver but not in the hills. I think I will wait until next month I don't feel like shooting in a snow storm.
Starting to be My thoughts also. I may check a few more weather sites.

Well, I'll probably try to get up there if it's possible to reach it. It'd be kinda interesting to see how things work when it's snowing lol.

The weather was good. It was sunny and wasn't that cold. There were some patches of snow, but most of it had melted.
There were a few other groups there, but they were all really cool guys and were safe the whole time. You guys missed out on a great day at the range.
